Re: june 1 yes we have a winner!!

I loved seeing that long line! Usually long lift lines are a sign of Vail Resorts dysfunction. But this one was a sign of skiers gettin' after it by ... skiing. On the first day of the month in which summer starts. Must have been a great scene, everyone so excited in get in some final turns for the ...

Re: june 1 yes we have a winner!!

As has been observed in prior years, once it starts to go -- it really goes! This screen capture is from just past noon, exactly when I would have been able to arrive there today for some final turns. Even though I missed out on June eastern skiing this year, so exciting to have Killington returning...

Re: june 1 yes we have a winner!!

It was always a fun end-of-day ritual when coaching! Reunion was an absolute blast, hosting four friends, seeing many more friends, and catching up with classmates who although not friends are still fun to see. Even better was that our daughter, now 14 yrs old, held her own in conversations with my ...

Re: june 1 yes we have a winner!!

those bumps where that patroller is were particularly gnarly all day. not at all soft w the backside totally sawed off. last run, hit it hard and landed awkwardly twisting my lower calf. took a couple seconds to take inventory and make sure i wasn't hurt. the one thing you don't wanna do is get inu...

Re: Urea - We have a winner

Here’s looking up from where I turned around partway up my fourth lap because of the incoming r*in. Already long bare stretches above that, and this was just before 3pm on Tuesday. Perhaps Killington knows from the snowcat sensors that some of those sections higher up are deeper than they appear and...

Re: Urea - We have a winner

Re pics, can I post a picture directly from my phone?
On various other forums I can do that, but clicking the picture icon is providing only the html code for a inserting a picture that is already posted somewhere else to the internet.
(Apologies in advance if I’m missing something obvious…)

Re: Urea - We have a winner

Bottom of the headwall is very solid. Should still be good for earned turns on Friday. But for farming snow all the way down from there across the increasingly long bare middle section…I’m skeptical that is feasible. Perhaps a long skinny ribbon will be constructed that will last for a couple hours ...

Re: Urea - We have a winner

The skiing was quite fun yesterday, but ... required some grass skiing segments to link up the middle stretch ... and that was before the r*in that chased me away ... which was followed by hot sunny weather. Some pics that may or may not be useful: https://www.strava.com/activities/11519332406 Webca...

Re: Superstar 2023

Grooming in progress!
Started from the top at a little before 9.

The necessary repair work didn’t look that bad up close.
By Monday afternoon though…
