Re: RIP Janis
I have been told by a mutual friend, that there was some kind of service down in Connecticut where her parents were. I am also being told that there may be a memorial get together of some sort, up here at Whaleback, where she was involved for the past few years. Nothing definite yet. I am also remem...
Re: RIP Janis
Definitely missing her. I worked for her and with her as a patroller and an ambassador. I see the comment that stirred up some fuss, about not being well liked. Well, I can tell you this. A lot of people don't like their boss when their boss tells them to do something that they don't want to do. For...

Stink Top is back
Got off the K-1 Friday morning the 6th, and OMG, what a smell. Backed up sewage.
Did anyone else smell that? I thought they had fixed it.
Does management know about it?

Re: Ew that smell, can't you smell that smell...
How about a "smell watch" topic, so we can have a warning if it's really bad one day, and we should stay away from the Peak.
How about a contest to rename the peak?
Meet me up at the stink pot. (Not the pasta pot)
Anyway, Thursday the 6th, and it still smells.

Killington Peak Sewage Smell
Has anyone else noticed the smell (odor) when coming off the K-1, and skiing around to Cascade? It started last Wednesday or Thursday, and it smells really fowl. As soon as you get to where you would ski down from the Lodge, whack. Smell right in the face. It seems that there might be a sewage block...

Otter Ski Patrol is Dead
It is with a saddened heart, I feel obligated to report that the Otter Ski Patrol, after 77 years has been killed. This will be the first year that the oldest continually registered ski patrol in the National Ski Patrol system, does not register with NSP. After Powder bought Killington, and promptly...

Re: New class of kids skiing at Killington
Given the current state of the state, it is not so hard to believe that my request for suggestions, has turned into my fault for complaining. (and it only took four pages of forum to get there!) I want to thank those that took my request for information seriously, and apologize to those offended by ...

Re: New class of kids skiing at Killington
As an aside, rescue skiers do not ride alone in the cabins or on any other lift, unless they are carrying equipment such as a sled, shovel, drill or whatever. Trust me, I know. By the way, this was not opening bell. At opening bell, with 30-50 people or more waiting to get in a cabin, it would be to...

Re: New class of kids skiing at Killington
Friday, although the guy had the entrance blocked, I looked him in the eye, and said, "I'm getting in", and made my move. There was a bit of a line, but more importantly, I felt like I had the right, and I didn't care if they were going to smoke a bowl. I just wanted up the mountain to get...

Re: New class of kids skiing at Killington
Lifties? You mean the South American girls checking passes? Mostly unaware, and/or over on the other side where the line comes in to the cabin area. This stuff is happening as the cabins are passing in front of the end of the singles line right up to where the sign says "No loading past here&qu...

New class of kids skiing at Killington
I am open to suggestions. I ski early, Monday to Friday. I try to get as many runs as I can in the couple of hours I have, before taking off for the office. I don't push, I don't rush, I just get in the first car (K-1) I can make. Been skiing at Killington for 20+ years. I get in the singles line, e...

Re: Poor Customer Service . . . Plain and Simple
Your last point is why I refuse to ski K on a pow day Eh. The plus side, is that they're understaffed in the patrollers department too, so you're odds of getting caught, if you aren't doing something like poaching Lower Ovation, are very low... And besides, the woods aren't closed if they didn't ha...

Re: What's Really Going On?
Skied yesterday, Saturday the 4th. You can blame it on whatever, or praise it, but the fact is, the lift lines were no where what they used to be. I usually go out of my way, to not ski on weekend days, especially holiday weekend days, mostly because of how crowded it gets. Maybe I should rethink th...
