Looks like no tri this year according to the web site (I wanted to print out my application and mail it in). I was hoping that this would be my 9th tri, but I guess 8 out of 15 isn't too bad. It doesn't look good for this unless they move it into April and get more people. I missed it last year but ...

Must have been extremely tough for the ski patrol. How do you help the kid? You can't get a ladder and you're not going to get the lift evac gear and get a person up there in three minutes.

Good thing for powder.

If you go to the Loaf, you've got to try the Porter House Inn up in Eustis (aka Useless in Eustis). It's about 20 miles north of the Loaf towards the Canadian border. Basically, if you think the Loaf is in the middle of nowhere, this place is just a little further. I haven't been there in a few year...

When it's fully open the Loaf is fantastic. Get some good pow and your in heaven. It's in the middle of the sticks, so the crowds aren't outrageous.

I'll just be up on Saturday. Can't wait to try my new boards (Salomon Equipe 10 SC Pilots) and a sort of new jacket (some guy decided that he didn't wan't his Arc'teryx Sidewinder anymore, so I picked it up at a ski swap for pretty much a steal.)

Hoping that the higher elevations remain cold!

I'm jumping in a little late, but here are my recommendations: For a non-high performance all season that performs well in the dry, wet and snow, I like the Goodyear Aquatred 3. My wife has them on her Subbie and I had the Aquatred 2's on my old Subbie. They were great. If you're looking for somethi...

Anyone familiar w/lateral adjustment of Salomon bindings?

I just picked up a pair of Salomon Equipe 10 SC Pilot's with the S912 Ti bindings. Does anyone know how the lateral (side-to-side) adjustment of the toe piece should be set? I know where to adjust it, I just don't know how much or to what point. I know that with the vertical adjustment, you should b...

I think Bling! hit the nail on the head. He was able to make it up in a Mustang years ago because he could drive in snow. If you know what you're doing, you can get to where you want to go. The new technology of cars definitely helps, but it will never conquer the elements, it's the driver - pure an...

I will do anything to make certain I can get to the pow. Granted, you're probably better off being a good driver in a bad car than a bad driver in a good car. I love my Audi A6 wagon with quattro. I've got the snow tires and when push comes to shove - I've even got the chains. Although when I had my...
