Re: Rickety old defunct lifts.
The Superstar chair thread inspired this. EXCLUDING K what is the oldest outdated lift you ever remember riding? I'll go 1st... 1. Sugarbush gondola 2. Gore Mtn detachable triple. 3. original Gore gondola 4. Mt Snow gondolas (really detachable doubles) 5. Stowe single 6. original Stowe gondola 7. M...

Re: Timing of Killington Forward
May 1, 2024 Great Gulf unveiled its latest phase-one proposal to residents and resort visitors over the winter and expects to file its plans with the town’s development review board by the end of May. It will then be reviewed by a state district Act 250 land use commission, with hopes to receive pe...

Re: Timing of Killington Forward
clearly whomever made these sketches hasn't ever been to Killington. I don't really see Joey Jersey and New York Nicky enjoying whatever the f*** is going on in that photo... That’s not their market. Neither is Kzone, for that matter. Tying your panties in a knot over some sketches is a bit much. W...

Re: Timing of Killington Forward
Wouldn't great gulf be funding and operating the village? Could be. I thought they were the just the developer, but they may be the long-term operator too I guess. I don't think Powdr/Killington has anything to do with the village other than the new combined base lodge and perhaps the new ski bridg...

Re: Timing of Killington Forward
if that is true its beyond silly... They're proposing a different monstrosity in an already developed area not cutting down virgin forest and starting from scratch. Something is going on, the last thing submitted to ACT250 on the village was a 5-year time extension that was granted on 11/5/21. Noth...

Anyone else able to view it? If anyone has a local copy, we can host it here. Lmk. It worked for me ...

Agreed, I'm not a fan either. Hopefully the village design isn't too far out there like a lot of other Safdie designs that we have seen.hillbangin wrote: ↑May 1st, '24, 08:02And an ugly one at that.....Big Bob wrote:Starting to look more like a city than a village.

Re: Timing of Killington Forward
Interesting document. The schedule on the last page shows the phase 1 village construction starting in September of this year which assumes that the ACT250 amendment process will take 6 months as shown (Feb - Jul). Seems unlikely but they must have gotten some feedback from the ACT250 people about w...

Re: Superstar Tower 4
Do you think that there shouldn't be a tower #13 kind of like a lot of hotels that don't have a 13th floor?

I am reaching out to see where your interest lies with...

Re: Sunday, April 14th
The lifty at the Needles Eye chair summed it up perfectly with "sneaky good one out there today huh?" It most certainly was way better than expected. Blue bird skies, an inch or so of fresh overnight, and soft easy to carve snow everywhere made for a fantastic morning of skiing. Only thing...

Re: Mountain Green Sales?
New village units will end up at auction just like the Grand. If they all even get built out to capacity. I believe Killington named a trail after that . . . . . Which one, the Throne? That would be appropriate. I walked through that place shortly after it was completed and saw a couple of the unit...

Re: Mountain Green Sales?
I would disagree. The taxes matter even if you are a 2nd or 3rd homeowner. It may not matter for those well inside the top 1%, but it matters to the top 2% to 10% (of the 1 to 2% of ski families that would buy ski real estate in New England) that need to be killingtons market for that village, whet...

Re: Mountain Green Sales?
>1000$ seems likely. It was at >500$ fifteen years ago. That was pre-Act 250. So a 1,500sf unit at $1,000/sf will be $1,500,000. To be in the parking lot of Snowshed and pay between $20-30K a year in taxes and another $6-$12,000 in HOA fees? I just don't get it. Even at Stowe I don't get it but at ...
