Re: Sticky snow
I did read that stone grinds help, I get one after every season, but maybe next time I'll ask for a deeper or more aggressive structure. But I'm thinking I might have missed an important step, I didn't brush the wax out of the structure after waxing, could this be the mistake I made? I might have t...

Re: Sticky snow
Believe it or not, years ago I actually tried that stuff on skis once. The WD-40, not the KY. That is when I learned that WD-40 is great for cleaning the wax out of diamond edge sharpening stones as it actually dissolves wax! As for the skis, they pretty much ground to a halt. Luckily no p...

Re: Sticky snow
Wd40 I am sure you were joking. :D Lately, I have been using this stuff. Easy to apply and lasts for the whole day (maybe even 2). Seems pricey, but a little goes a long way. https://dominatorwax.com/products/dominator-ffc-p2 It was that or KY jelly :) Believe it or not, years ago I actually tried ...

Re: Sticky snow
the goal is to create more friction so a thin layer of snow melts to liquid water under your skis/board. you can get more structure put in your base with a base grind, and you can use wax that has additives that create friction, such as graphite. im a huge one ball jay fan, i use their graphite rub...

Re: SkyeShip Gondala > Number of busted chairs..
Regardless of how much use any lift or terrain gets, I believe that every ski resort has a responsibility to keep their infrastructure in a state of good repair, and Killington just isn't living up to that. There is a legal liability issue here too. Skyeship is now known to be in pretty bad shape. ...

Re: 2024 demo day ?
Feb 2-4 during the Subaru Fest was the last one at Killington. Getting late in the season for demos. Potter Brothers in the Snowshed Lodge charges $75 per day for unlimited demos and they have a large ski selection. If you have a regular Killington ski shop that you buy your skis from they may let ...

Re: Killington Peak backcountry, Get at it!!
Sounds to me like they had some bad directions and tried to get to Coopers from GN just above Killink, instead of the usual way. Then one set of bad tracks got followed by another, and another...

Re: Spring Wax
I suggest you take a look here: https://www.skitalk.com/threads/tahoe-spring-wax.30489/ In my younger days I actually tried Pledge :D , and I can say that Mr. Moose's recommendations are far better than that spray on wood polish on the base of your skis. On the topsheet though, Pledge does work rath...

Re: Of course it's IKON
I waited 10 minutes at Superstar then went to South Ridge and the OL chair for many line-free laps. Boo Hoo! Again, did you ski at Killington when it was doing 1 million skier visits a year? I'd bet Snoloco was in Kindergarten the last time Killington was close to 1 million skier visits a year.

Re: Science Rant, Not politics: Can CO2 cause "Climate Change?"
Have not posted here in a while, much more of a lurker these days, but saw this in my daily reading of the Las Vegas Advisor and thought it worth posting: "Both U.S.' Fastest-Warming Cities in Nevada: In a new report released by ClimateCentral.org, a nonprofit news organization that analyzes an...

Hate to throw in a wrinkle at this late stage for you, but have you considered the Head Kore 93? I am loving mine. Very light and on the stiff side.

Re: Parking Reservations
A new twist on all this is the procedures just announced by NY. If I understand them, anyone leaving NY (other than to NJ, PA or CT) will have to quarantine for 3 days and take a test. Will be a problem for those coming up for the weekend and returning to NY. The new rules for NY do not include VT ...
