Re: Rickety old defunct lifts.
C&S lattice chairs take the cake for me and I think the only full original C&S lattice chair left in the Northeast is Outpost? Followed closely by the other erector set Mueller and Stadeli lifts of which there are a few more left around. Another lattice chair still standing is the 1964 Muel...

Re: Political Humor
Actually, that's exactly what I was doing. Many people reacted to the method of euthanasia rather than the behavior of the dog. Had nothing to do with the person involved as far as my comment went. For context, see the cartoon above my comment. But feel free to continue falsely attributing positions...

Re: Political Humor
I don't believe she did it at all. I think it was a political calculation to lie and make herself look tough and it has backfired. Just like she lied about meeting Kim Jong Un and had to have her book revised. Moose likes and defends female liars though, so no surprise he's in her defending Kristi....

:dis May 1, 2024 Great Gulf... expects to file its plans with the town’s development review board by the end of May.... with hopes to receive permits for the first phase of construction by November ... sitework that will need to be done before they can start on the buildings themselves - grade chang...

Friday 5 3 24 report
20240503_151902.jpg Middle O has a middle problem. The rest is pretty solid. Walkout required, a little muddy as you exit. Nivi's has a narrow ribbon section just before Upper O. Skylark lower is marginal. Not sure I'd do it tomorrow unless they work a little magic. Upper pretty good. Supe is Supe....

Re: Preston's pitch?
Preston's Pitch is the very first proposal to Joe Sargeant to get financing to build Killington in the 50s.

Re: monday 4/29 report
Did the (sunnier) afternoon shift Bittersweet Meh - bleh. Upper has pack ice with bare spots on upper. Doubtful it will make the weekend, or if it does, with major farming. Lower Bitter still fine. Skylark nice cover, even lower skis fine with just one 'brownish' spot. GS spaced bumpettes on lower t...

Re: Superstar chair
If Snowdon can support a 6 pack, then Superstar can too. The trails are much wider. The unloading area only feels small because it's uphill to get anywhere. If the top terminal is built higher, then it will be much better. At the bottom, it should have a side load and rotate the opposite direction ...

Downdraft firmish... yes, but not in the usual concrete meaning. These were big, spined, and very edgable. Welded corn.

Friday 4 26 24
Afternoon shift, conditions were bright sun and softening snow. Rode the lift up with Skiergirl, skied with skiadkt a bit. SBF and friends passed us repeatedly. Ovation has farther spaced bumps and a solid runout. Except for a few sharks teeth making an appearance. Beers with RustyK at the Ubar and ...

Re: Superstar 2024
Friday evening 4-26. I've been noticing the extra depth this year at tower 3. The ridge gets a little stronger as you go down from there. This may well change the melt out pattern this late May, when the big waterbar usually makes itself known and the traverse to the bump line left gets sketchy. Cha...

Re: tuesday 4/23 report
20240423_165744.jpg . The springtime pattern has arrived. Long bump lines at days end, blue sky backdrop, apres tailgates lining the access road. Glad skiadkt talked us into Panic/Needles, but he didn't talk us into Old Superstar. We skied around and waited at the exit. And waited. Sometimes saying...

Re: Final Sunday forall but Sup - Apr 21!
If you won't I will. Swirl had the best snow. Edgeable right out of the gate, no base ice. Went shopping but found nothing better. Went back for more.
What a sunshine overcast disappointment. Tomorrow's forecast is for... sunshine. Dare we believe it?

Re: friday 4/19 schedule
Deadest Friday in memory. Nice spring skiing in semi flat light. Lots of thin spots opening up. Many trails have deep snow pockets, but also thin spots. Upper Chute is on fumes at the entrance, but the rest of the trail is nicely sculpted bumps. Great Bear upper edge to edge, has wide openings at th...
