In some cases, yes. Not all. Ownership also has an agenda on both sides.

What I've been thinking on many political conundrums is follow the money. I expect that is behind many actions that seem inexplicable.

Re: What Can the New Owners do to Fix K This Season

The Snowshed pumphouse has to be moved for The Village. So that's probably when it gets upgraded. They're not going to update the old one only to rip it out a couple years later. I don't think the resort ever said they were deferring other upgrades because of The Village. It was more likely because...

Re: Can the Democrat Party be saved?

Is this a stage of dementia? Something else? What say you. Donald Trump says debate audience 'went crazy' - but there wasn't one https://www.yahoo.com/news/donald-trump-says-debate-audience-111201992.html?guccounter=1 I heard that as well, and my first thought was the same as yours. My second thoug...

Re: What Can the New Owners do to Fix K This Season

It will be a lot more than a tad. The Impulses use 1/4 the air of a K gun. 1/3 of a Rat or SR7. Bulletpoint #3 below is now front and center to be addressed in future years. 3 main issues: Terrain served by only portable gear (labor intensive and snowmaking windows are lost shifting gear around): p...

Re: What Can the New Owners do to Fix K This Season

<snip> Again, all of this is more than highly unlikely to happen and future Killington skiers will have to deal with remote parking and the other downsides of a village at Snowshed and Ramshead but the unlikeliness does not take away from the utility of making the land swap successful for the resor...

Re: What Can the New Owners do to Fix K This Season

That idea does have some merit. However a condo behind Inn of 6 Mtns and Wobbly is going to be worth far less than a condo in the Snowshed parking lot. Plus the sunk costs in permits and design spent already. Who is going to reimburse GG for that very large loss? Work the cost into the deal. It’s r...

Re: What Can the New Owners do to Fix K This Season

A village on the course with a gondola to K1 would make Killington the best mountain town in NE - including Stowe. I've been saying that for years, including directly to the Texas people who backed SP Land. The answer? "We don't own that land." I did not know that - so who owns the land? ...

Re: Which wax?

rub the wax stick on the bases to apply, iron it in, scrape it real good, You're not getting enough wax onto the ski. Apply the wax to the hot iron while over the ski, and dribble wax onto the bases in long thin lines. It will take a few times to judge how much wax to melt onto the ski, and I've se...

Re: Beech Leaf Disease/ Ash Borer

I'm treating my Ash trees with TreeAge G4. It's not cheap. For just under $500 you get a liter. Dilute it 1:1, and load the liquid into special plastic syringes. Drill holes in the trunk every 6 inches of circumference and insert the syringe, release the spring loaded plunger. It takes 1-3 hours for...

Re: Which wax?

I'm not that fussy on brushing out the wax. Scrape down to the bases more or less, light brushing down the ski, I look at the color, evenness and texture of the brushed wax more than brushing it out of the texture. Couple passes, done. I wear out the texture after a while anyway. As it is, I pass al...

Re: Which wax?

Fresh wax should never feel like slowing you down with temps below 30 degrees. Try a different wax, or try a targeted temperature wax. I notice a big difference first thing especially if I'm skating to a lift line. Early spring snow before it corns up is sticky. Nothing really helps, but the right w...

Re: What Can the New Owners do to Fix K This Season

Maybe if they included one of these with every early season lift ticket there would be less complaining.
