Re: Access Road Speed Limit

Isn't the access road getting an upgrade as part of Phase 1? They're already doing work at the rt 4 junction. Construction will calm the traffic for the next year or two. The best speeding deterrent is having a cop sitting on the side of the road. What else do they have to do in this sleepy little ...

Look at the forecast for next week. Why waste the air.

Another horrible Christmas.

Ouch. That's sad.

Re: Poaching and other questions answered

If there's 2 feet of pow and my pass is going to get pulled for 2 weeks options are: A. Poach and don't ski for 2 weeks B. Don't poach and ski groomers with cut up packed down chunk on a 2 foot day? Not a tough decision.....it's probably going to be boilerplate and r*in for 2 weeks anyway. Sent from...

Re: Poaching and other questions answered

If I poach a run first chair and that rope is dropped later in the day - and the snowfall stopped in the morning - is that really poaching? So there is a Canyon Cam..... And is the Light to Escapade to Flume route under video surveillance? Asking for a friend.... Thanks Mike - Sent from my SM-S906U1...

Re: Poaching

I was hoping for a lot of poaching next week - butt it looks like the annual pre-holiday washout is on its way.

Reverse Jynx please.

At least the drinking will be good.

Re: Poaching

Seems to be a whole bunch of affordable apartments in Rutland. Not quite sure what Asher is crying about but that is nothing new. Is she saying that Rutland isn't an acceptable commute? Bless her heart. The poor thing is worrying about a 20-minute commute from a town with everything you need. Meanw...

Re: Poaching

Love how this discussion has now morphed into a conspiracy theory by management to change the composition of the people who visit K. You people are buying way too far into the rumor mill. I'm still pretty skeptical that there are trail cams, but I'm fairly certain there's no AI involved. That techn...

Re: Poaching

There's no wiggle room on going near a winch cat. You do it, your pass will be gone. Ducking the rope on middle O, or Upper Royal Flush is a lot less severe. That's my point. All poaches are not equal. In general, early season poaching on most steep trails isnt too smart. Sent from my SM-S906U1 usi...

Re: Poaching

Look at any other east coast resort and see how many people poach closed trails. By and large, they don't. But there has to be a little wiggle room here. Look at Vail resorts. There's signage everywhere of the consequences of getting caught poaching. Ya - Vail's doing a great job - and here's anoth...

Re: Poaching

Latest number I heard is they are up to 100 with half of the offenders being employees. The paying customer gets a two week sentence if it is their first offense. The employees or their dependents lose lift riding privileges for the season. The rules have always been the same. They just have a few ...

Re: Poaching

I am pretty skeptical of there being trail cams. Not impossible, but seems like a very manpower-intensive operation that I would think the suits would consider a waste of resources (ie money). Much more likely that somebody saw this local, recognized him, and decided to make an example. Or possibly...
