Up the Down Launchpad 2024
I am hoping for some fun on canyon runs over the upcoming days.
I know things will melt fast on the runout, but walking out doesn't bother me.
All recon/info/pics will be appreciated.

Re: Timing of Killington Forward
The master plan is frightening. I have long felt that the initial village will likely be the least of our worries, and this confirms it. "Vale", "Snowdon Glades", "Yodeler's Run", "Snowshed Woods" (looks like an additional lift in the Snowshed/Northbrook area)...

Re: Superstar chair
The grapevine told me it is going to be a bubble-6. Seems a little unnecessary to me. It's a relatively short ride, and I find the line to be fairly well protected from the wind most of the way. Granted, a new lift would likely be higher off the ground on the new line. All things being equal (meanin...

Superstar chair
Given the general "it can wait until after the village" mentality by ownership, towards lift infrastructure investment right now, the Supe lift must be in seriously bad shape. I don't think FIS demands are the main driving force in its replacement priority. I get the power of a "devil...

Re: "At least for now" Bonus weekend thread
I think they are going above and beyond, running the Cooper's lift. Kudos. Which lifts they have run in the past is meaningless. They could have run just the K1 this weekend, and most of us would have been quite thankful. It will be awesome. Tonight should go below freezing, but I think it will soft...

Re: "At least for now" Bonus weekend thread
They are open daily thru May 5th. Check the lift ticket sales portal. Easy hack to figure it out. This is also pretty much standard practice when the calendar comes around to it. They weren't going to close just for May 2nd, and they never suggested they would. They have been pretty clear about bei...

Re: "At least for now" Bonus weekend thread
I see this on the conditions report. I assume this is the little strip of Skye Hawk below Launch Pad. Will that be a draw for those so inclined? Woodward Mountain Parks Park Crew has completed a hike park up on Skye Hawk, which has four features and is the only open terrain park remaining. Head up ...

Re: "At least for now" Bonus weekend thread
As a "former" midweek passer of many years (Spring pass this year), I certainly would not be a happy camper about no Friday. Of course, they could also just allow midweekers next weekend, but they probably won't. They have gotten a little greedier recently in this regard. There were occasi...

Re: "At least for now" Bonus weekend thread
first of all, they've left the door open but the chickens haven't come home yet. as i've said, think weather and advanced bookings are gonna be the determining factors. the sooner they announce (if indeed they decide to go ahead and run additional lifts), the better they can market it. we'll see .....

"At least for now" Bonus weekend thread
Oh Killington, you do like to play it cute.
As I said, they get to win the game of low expectations.
Which lift (s) should they reopen? Which lift (s) WILL they reopen?
Let the speculation begin!

Re: Closing Schedule for Killington
speaking of the '6weeks early' past, i remember hiking SS on may1 2010 because the early powdr regime closed everything the previous week. we hiked up sky/bitter to wall-to-wall coverage on supe. to add insult to injury, we were harassed after we skiied by k security, who told us we were tresspassi...
