Re: Superstar chair
So, which do we find more reliable - the 30+ year old Supe chair, or the 18 month old escalator in the new lodge?

Re: Superstar chair
The new top station may need to be pretty much where the current one is. They aren't going to put it on Nivis.Stormchaser wrote: ↑May 8th, '24, 10:40 Change the alignment, offset the top station from the existing station, leave the existing chair operational until the new one is ready, and then tear the old one out later...

Re: Superstar chair
When Hunter replaced the original Sunlite Express they refurbished it, updated the terminals, and moved it to the west side. I think that was done in 1 summer and included replacing the HSQ with the current 6 pack. They removed the quad and installed the six-pack the first summer. The quad parts sa...

“Killington’s major competition has benefitted from development of base area villages in recent years, while land ownership hurdles left Killington without. The master plan entitlements make Killington the largest ski area development opportunity in North America.” - Great Gulf They have been jealou...

Re: Superstar chair
Still processing the notion that a major ski resort would base the timing of overdue infrastructure investment on whether or not they had a bad Christmas week.

Up the Down Launchpad 2024
I am hoping for some fun on canyon runs over the upcoming days.
I know things will melt fast on the runout, but walking out doesn't bother me.
All recon/info/pics will be appreciated.

Re: Timing of Killington Forward
The master plan is frightening. I have long felt that the initial village will likely be the least of our worries, and this confirms it. "Vale", "Snowdon Glades", "Yodeler's Run", "Snowshed Woods" (looks like an additional lift in the Snowshed/Northbrook area)...

Re: Superstar chair
The grapevine told me it is going to be a bubble-6. Seems a little unnecessary to me. It's a relatively short ride, and I find the line to be fairly well protected from the wind most of the way. Granted, a new lift would likely be higher off the ground on the new line. All things being equal (meanin...

Superstar chair
Given the general "it can wait until after the village" mentality by ownership, towards lift infrastructure investment right now, the Supe lift must be in seriously bad shape. I don't think FIS demands are the main driving force in its replacement priority. I get the power of a "devil...

Re: "At least for now" Bonus weekend thread
I think they are going above and beyond, running the Cooper's lift. Kudos. Which lifts they have run in the past is meaningless. They could have run just the K1 this weekend, and most of us would have been quite thankful. It will be awesome. Tonight should go below freezing, but I think it will soft...

Re: "At least for now" Bonus weekend thread
They are open daily thru May 5th. Check the lift ticket sales portal. Easy hack to figure it out. This is also pretty much standard practice when the calendar comes around to it. They weren't going to close just for May 2nd, and they never suggested they would. They have been pretty clear about bei...
