Re: Preston's pitch?

So it's where you watch all the beginners wiping out on an icy day trying to survive sliding down on their asses. Is that section to the skiers left part of P.P, the part that's usually roped off, where I cut under the ropes to try and get some speed to the K1? no, its the main trail, just the last...

Re: Preston's pitch?

Thanks Skiadikt, I think I understand that description. So if I understand, it's where middle ovation ends right before lower ovation where you ski out to the right to get to S.S. From there to the bottom is P.P. I always thought it was the section to skiers left towards the bottom that's usually r...

Re: Up the Down Launchpad 2024

yesterday 4/29: the walk up launch pad was pleasant, snow is still pretty firm and fully covered making for an easy bootpack. mountain has begun prepping for summer and started plowing the work road ('off the top' in mtb land) and snowcats were pulling guns while friends and i were hiking (we exchan...

Re: "At least for now" Bonus weekend thread

As a "former" midweek passer of many years (Spring pass this year), I certainly would not be a happy camper about no Friday. Of course, they could also just allow midweekers next weekend, but they probably won't. They have gotten a little greedier recently in this regard. There were occas...

Re: "At least for now" Bonus weekend thread

People are also asking about the peace park, but I think the features have already been taken down. Missed opportunity to keep it going 2-3 more weekends, even if it was not connected to other terrain. It got pretty crowded on Sunday, despite subpar weather. All the park rats across the Northeast w...

Re: Killington Road Detour: 4/15 - 7/8

The stop light at West Hill and Killington Rd was flashing for two weeks prior to the detour. Now it went back steady again. If it remains steady, the timing of the lights should be adjusted since the majority of traffic is coming from West Hill Rd. Any traffic engineers out there? i thought of thi...

Re: New lift planned

So what happens if I have an ikon plus and my k pass? Hoping for a refund. Sent from my SM-S906U1 using Tapatalk if they sell to alterra id imagine it will be before the start of next season (or the following) and theyd probably issue refunds if k ends up on ikon as a result. alterra is sitting on ...

Re: "At least for now" Bonus weekend thread

Not that it will actually happen, but everything that was open this weekend. There's plenty of snow, and they had good turnout this weekend. If the weather is better next weekend, then even more people will probably show up. I would've done K1 and Snowdon midweek, and Friday-Sunday for North Ridge ...

Re: Only Superstar Quad After this Weekend!

I'm counting on one of those "bonus" weekends for the K1 as I think there will be enough snow. last year there was limited snow left on the K1 served trails. i wouldnt count on it, if they wont even run pub food daily at the height of winter (F&B highest profit margin) you think theyr...

Re: Spring Shrinkage Schedule ?

I imagine everyone who purchased spring passes is going to be pissed that they're shutting down a but 3 trails despite wall to wall coverage. And for those who are planning on skinning, don't be surprised if they break out the anti-poaching cameras again. if there were ever a time for riots to brea...

this supports my pet theory that killington (and possibly all of powdr's ski operations) are going to sell to alterra.

Re: wednesday 4/17 report

park was sick, i rarely ever ride park especially this year (conditions werent right for me) because im old and break easily but yesterday (and i heard the day before) was exceptional. soft but FAST snow. had a bunch of progression even in my relatively old age and surprised myself a bit. fun day. a...

fdskier56 wrote: Apr 18th, '24, 12:03 Yet during the spring summer fall they run
2 lifts every day of the week
3 lifts 4 days a week.

Are there really that many bikes up there midweek in June and sept ?

Do they ever scale back that schedule due to lack of demand?
