Re: Killington App User PSA

The app reported me as having gone down upper great northern when I had actually come down the top of downdraft. I don't think there's nearly enough precision for them to be tempted to use it catch poachers.

Re: sunday 11/29 report

More importantly, who the hell as a beginner decides now is the time to try riding. Pretty much the worst start of winter (conditions and virus restrictions) ever. You're assuming that just because they ski like a 1st day skier that they haven't been coming up for Thanksgiving for multiple years. S...

Re: Killington and the multi resort passes

Trying to study pass options for next year as we want to do a western trip and maybe a couple of random weekends in New England. (IKON passes go up in price at midnight and all youth discounts go away). For the regular Killington / Pico skier, it really sucks that the Killington pass has essentiall...

Re: Lenz heated socks va Hotronics heated beds

I just bought (first season) hotronics and can't really tell if they work. The unplug from the batteries during the ski day. Run them at 2 setting and 4 setting and can't really tell the difference. Maybe mine don't work at all (only used them about 5 times). I would go w the Lenz socks! Does anyon...

Re: Orange coats

Yet the Poma is not completed on Ramshead and kids are training on swirl. You have kids in full battle armor skiing down intimidating learn to skiers in full control. I hope they don't get a speeding ticket. Any learn to ski student that's on Ramshead is already having a crappy day. Probably having...

Thoughts?
Sort of opposite ends of the 100-ish mm spectrum. Bonafides are extremely stiff and basically a wide GS ski while the Rossi is very soft with a lot of tip and tail rocker; skis very short for a given length.

Re: Job openings

If 6000 skiers show up, and 1-2% want a lesson, that's 60-120 lessons. How many instructors do it full time? You're probably looking at more like 10-20 lessons in that scenario as lesson groups tend to be around 5 people, especially on the kids side. The number of private lessons is pretty small pe...

Re: Job openings

The dude above that posted the numbers of open for each department. That’s hard to believe and if true, not saying you’re wrong, just hard to wrap my head around. Full grooming crew is 30 maybe. They still need 2/3?’ Wow. That’s going to be rough. Ski areas across the country are all in similar sha...

Re: Good news. New Lifts. Gondi Upgrade.

Both cabin manufacturers (CWA for Doppelmayr and Sigma for Leitner-Poma) have demo cabins that they will repaint in the logo and color of the ski area that's getting them for PR purposes. When the lift opens, the demo cabins are returned to the manufacturer where they are repainted and rebadged for...
