Re: Rickety old defunct lifts.

Non-epoxy based grout (common in the 70s to 80s) was used to pin the top terminal to ledge. Water intrusion eventually caused it to fail. As a result every Tramway board in New England (and maybe the country) required every operator to provide evidence that the "right" grout was used for a...

Re: world cup returns in 2024

Until you see new pumps being lowered into the Snowshed pumphouse any pipe replacement is not capacity related.

Re: Rickety old defunct lifts.

C&S lattice chairs take the cake for me and I think the only full original C&S lattice chair left in the Northeast is Outpost? Followed closely by the other erector set Mueller and Stadeli lifts of which there are a few more left around.

Re: Rickety old defunct lifts.

Folks sure have a different idea of rickety than I do. Some of these are just plain old but display nothing indicating they are held together by bubblegum.

Re: Superstar chair

You're right. It's not their first either from my recollection. I should have said not many.

Re: Superstar chair

Not a D line, and neither will Superstar be most likely.

That would include labor. No ski area has the in house expertise to install their own detach.

Re: Timing of Killington Forward

Why are we still looking at old notional drawings without scale or accuracy? These are wet dreams.

Count me in for a condo on Yodeler Run though.

Re: Superstar chair

Not likely to exceed $10M. SS is not an overly long lift or challenging install.

Check install costs for similar lifts over the past few years, and many had COVID labor and material inflation.

Re: Superstar chair

One word: wind.

There is a reason that top terminal is tucked in just after the breakover. That is the area that always was the culprit for closing Stage 3 of the original gondola.

Re: Superstar chair

I don't think it's been confirmed one way or another what the alignment will be. Until the 250 app is filed or the resorts confirms we likely won't.

Re: Superstar chair

There is always the back pocket option of accessing the SS pod via Launch Pad, but that's a lot of November snowmaking just to get to those trails. It's also going to be difficult for any last minute base terminal construction when that whole area is overtaken by the World Cup venue setup. Tricky in...

Re: Superstar chair

Sunday River is not doing anything meaningful this off-season due to flood related expenses.

Does not excuse other years for K obviously.

Re: Superstar chair

As for the alignment, I see no need to change it, other than moving the top terminal higher, and moving it back a little to make the unload bigger. They shouldn't be cutting more trees if they are required to give back acreage to do it. They had no choice with South Ridge, but it isn't necessary fo...
