Re: 2024 Election
So you’re agreeing with Trump and Republicans that Biden is practicing “lawfare” and weaponizing the DOJ, even if it’s only through timing? I certainly wouldn't characterize it that way, but I think it naive to believe Biden wasn't to some degree involved in the timing, here. Otherwise why didn't t...

Re: 2024 Election
I guess it goes to show how politics is an emotional game. Logically, DeSantis would have been a better choice for the MAGA crew, as he likely would have won and pardoned Donald. He also probably would have pursued the kind of agenda MAGA wanted. But instead they went with their emotional figurehead.

Re: 2024 Election
Pretty solid analysis from a pro-Republican operative. His take is Biden is quite unpopular and the only reason he has a shot is that a majority of people find Trump personally distasteful even if they agree with him on policies issues. He thinks if Trump tones down his personality that he increases...

Re: Can the Democrat Party be saved?
Don’t you just love the picture of Christian conservative Mike Johnson appearing in court to lend support to a serial philandering, porn star schtupping rapist? It's a very succinct illustration of how the evangelical right has totally thrown away all principle in support of Trump. I remember when ...

Re: The Trials Of Donald Trump
Welp, it looks like the Biden admin lawfare against Trump is a miserable fail. Fani's case won't start before the election. Same with Jack's (if at all). The current Bragg case is a complete sham and everybody knows it. He will be found innocent or will easily win in an appeal. Trump will also win ...

Re: Middle East situation
If we are truly producing more than we can use why not use the surplus to flood the market with cheap oil until OPEC is destroyed? This would be a short term solution but very satisfying. I'd love to see Saudi Arabia reduced to the desert wasteland that it used to be. We could make a colony for the...

Re: Can the Democrat Party be saved?
Yeah you're right. I think GOP voters confuse lower taxes with being fiscally conservative. In point of fact, the GOP has been far more reckless with public finances because they continue to spend but at the same time cut taxes with the resulting bigger deficits. Of course many believe that cutting ...

Re: Can the Democrat Party be saved?
Relax Always-Smashed, but you're wrong yet again. It was the Dems blowing trillions on COVID relief. Any opportunity to blow money and the Dem party is all over it. Republicans of the last ten years have not exactly been fiscally conservative. If memory serves, your MAGA guy wanted to keep shelling...

Re: Can the Democrat Party be saved?
And who'd have thought from his resume that I'd actually think Johnson was doing a half-way decent job? Bar is set pretty low right now, no? He's benefitting from that a bit! Oh for sure. I'm not saying I'd vote for the guy, but he did get some things done that really needed to get done (budget, Uk...

Re: Political Humor
How does what China eats put the Noem thing in perspective? Does Putin murdering political dissidents put murder in the U.S. in perspective? People eat steak in the U.S. but that doesn't stop people from being outraged when they hear stories of animal cruelty involving cattle. Why can't you folks ju...

Re: Can the Democrat Party be saved?
Rare moment of unity as Democrats jump in to stop MTG's stupid move to oust Johnson. Kinda gives me some hope that there are serious people among these clowns who are willing to do at least some of the work that needs to be done. And who'd have thought from his resume that I'd actually think Johnson...

Re: The Trials Of Donald Trump
Ah, so you've heard it from partisan TV talking heads on broadcast news. Makes sense, but that's not what I'd call "the legal community" (FFS Hanson isn't even a lawyer) and certainly no indication of what "most" in that community think. And no, I don't think failing to maintain ...

Re: The Trials Of Donald Trump
Ahhhh... Jack Smith (the stupid prosecutor) tampered with the documents AND the Biden admin set up Trump by sending him classified documents he didn't know about. What's your basis for this knowledge? In the latest filing, the only thing Trump's team alleges is that the prosecutor didn't maintain t...

Re: Can the Republican Party Be Saved?
Yes, the Romans literally killed Jesus but they were merely following the wishes of the Pharisees and the mob. The Jews were responsible. Right because the Roman governor of Judea had no choice but to kill an innocent man because "the Jews" wanted him to. Sounds plausible. However,...
