Re: 2020 Election
Not much Congress can do without a constitutional amendment. In theory they could impeach and remove a judge, but we all know that neither side will be able to get a 2/3 majority in the Senate because each side would protect their judges regardless of indiscretions or crimes committed. What I would ...

Re: Middle East situation
Curious what people think of the ICC arrest warrant for Netanyahu? My semi-uninformed gut reaction is that it's a mistake, for as much as I might not like Netanyahu's policies, he seems to be acting in his country's self-defense. I think it actually makes the ICC look bad.

Re: 2020 Election
Blamed the first one on his wife. Classic. Imagine if it were one of the liberal justices making overtly political gestures?

Reading is hard, I know, but if you put your mind to it you can do it. I believe in you.

Re: The Trials Of Donald Trump
Sounds very much like Skid Mark's comments - no real substance or understanding of the proceeding, just repeating what they heard some political commentator say. There's plenty to criticize but most of these commentators really seem to miss the mark. Saying there's no basis for a prosecution, for ex...

Re: The Trials Of Donald Trump
Yeah Cohen turned out to be a great star witness. Just another example of Democrats being stupid and shockingly incompetent. Epic backfire. If the jury finds Trump guilty it will make a mockery of the people of NYC. I think opinions of Cohen's testimony are pretty varied depending on which pundit y...

Re: Can the Republican Party Be Saved?
I don't hate guns. They are fun to shoot and can be useful tools. But I do think it's asinine to just trust any fool in society to be able to purchase and carry one where ever they go. We impose more restrictions on cars then we do on guns. For almost two hundred years in this Country, states and lo...

Re: Can the Republican Party Be Saved?
For me this situation is an argument for gun control. If nobody was allowed to carry guns in that crowd this situation never would have happened. I mean how dumb is it that during a protest where violence is a strong possibility a protestor is allowed to openly carry an assault rifle. As to the meri...

Re: The Trials Of Donald Trump
While I'm not sure I fully agree, I can appreciate the logic that Trump needs to be defeated at the ballot box, not via litigation. Prosecuting an ex-President like this, who irresponsibly calls the entire legal system into question and his followers just believe him without thinking, serves to unde...

Re: 2024 Election
So you’re agreeing with Trump and Republicans that Biden is practicing “lawfare” and weaponizing the DOJ, even if it’s only through timing? I certainly wouldn't characterize it that way, but I think it naive to believe Biden wasn't to some degree involved in the timing, here. Otherwise why didn't t...

Re: 2024 Election
I guess it goes to show how politics is an emotional game. Logically, DeSantis would have been a better choice for the MAGA crew, as he likely would have won and pardoned Donald. He also probably would have pursued the kind of agenda MAGA wanted. But instead they went with their emotional figurehead.

Re: 2024 Election
Pretty solid analysis from a pro-Republican operative. His take is Biden is quite unpopular and the only reason he has a shot is that a majority of people find Trump personally distasteful even if they agree with him on policies issues. He thinks if Trump tones down his personality that he increases...

Re: Can the Democrat Party be saved?
Don’t you just love the picture of Christian conservative Mike Johnson appearing in court to lend support to a serial philandering, porn star schtupping rapist? It's a very succinct illustration of how the evangelical right has totally thrown away all principle in support of Trump. I remember when ...

Re: The Trials Of Donald Trump
Welp, it looks like the Biden admin lawfare against Trump is a miserable fail. Fani's case won't start before the election. Same with Jack's (if at all). The current Bragg case is a complete sham and everybody knows it. He will be found innocent or will easily win in an appeal. Trump will also win ...
