Starting to look more like a city than a village.

Re: Superstar chair

Would a six pack get a barn? Do they have the space to build one at the base of Superstar. It will need a barn if the chairs have bubbles. Not necessarily. Dopp D line terminals double as rack barns and that racking system is an automated 1 button push. I have seen some be open air terminals with t...

Re: Timing of Killington Forward

Interesting document. The schedule on the last page shows the phase 1 village construction starting in September of this year which assumes that the ACT250 amendment process will take 6 months as shown (Feb - Jul). Seems unlikely but they must have gotten some feedback from the ACT250 people about ...

Re: Superstar chair

From K's perspective, seems to me Superstar is the obvious choice by process of elimination. They probably don't want to replace the Ramshead or Snowshed lifts because the village construction. As discussed in other threads, I really don't see them investing much in the Skyship because the ROI is n...

Re: Superstar chair

Air pressure is used to release the brake. So, if air pressure is lost the brake will apply itself. This is typical of a truck air brake system, I am assuming what is on Superstar lift would be similar for safety reasons.
Will the new lift have a bubble with heated seats?

Re: friday 4/19 schedule

Sounds like the spring pass sales were weak. If no one is showing up I can't blame Mike for shrinking the footprint and cutting their losses.

Re: Spring Shrinkage Schedule ?

Well my favorite Killington lift is Skyeship, so we're somewhat in common. It's by far the fastest lift, serves the longest trails on the mountain, is a long enough ride to actually warm up on cold days, and is straightforward to get on and off of. I've just always found K1 to be a slog to lap. I'd...

If you spend $5 Mill do you want everybody and their granmother riding YOUR lift? Proably be restricted like the relocated poma.

Re: Spring Shrinkage Schedule ?

I agree about dealing with the gondola. A bubble chair is much easier to ride and offers enough protection on a bad weather day. Also proably cheaper for the mnt to install than a gondola and may be more wind resistant.

Re: Sticky snow

Believe it or not, years ago I actually tried that stuff on skis once. The WD-40, not the KY. That is when I learned that WD-40 is great for cleaning the wax out of diamond edge sharpening stones as it actually dissolves wax! As for the skis, they pretty much ground to a halt. Luckily no p...

Re: SkyeShip Gondala > Number of busted chairs..

In theory wouldn't a 6 pack have more capacity than the Gondi? And a high speed quad puts more people up the hill than a 6-pack. /thread-hijack. I'm sure this has all been rehashed here but why wouldn't they just do that....... Get people up to Needles - Replace Needles and Stage 2 with a 6 pack - ...
