Re: friday 4/19 schedule
Sounds like the spring pass sales were weak. If no one is showing up I can't blame Mike for shrinking the footprint and cutting their losses.

Re: Spring Shrinkage Schedule ?
Well my favorite Killington lift is Skyeship, so we're somewhat in common. It's by far the fastest lift, serves the longest trails on the mountain, is a long enough ride to actually warm up on cold days, and is straightforward to get on and off of. I've just always found K1 to be a slog to lap. I'd...

Re: Spring Shrinkage Schedule ?
I agree about dealing with the gondola. A bubble chair is much easier to ride and offers enough protection on a bad weather day. Also proably cheaper for the mnt to install than a gondola and may be more wind resistant.

Re: Sticky snow
Believe it or not, years ago I actually tried that stuff on skis once. The WD-40, not the KY. That is when I learned that WD-40 is great for cleaning the wax out of diamond edge sharpening stones as it actually dissolves wax! As for the skis, they pretty much ground to a halt. Luckily no p...

Re: SkyeShip Gondala > Number of busted chairs..
In theory wouldn't a 6 pack have more capacity than the Gondi? And a high speed quad puts more people up the hill than a 6-pack. /thread-hijack. I'm sure this has all been rehashed here but why wouldn't they just do that....... Get people up to Needles - Replace Needles and Stage 2 with a 6 pack - ...

Re: Eclipse from 4241'
Sugarloaf will keep the lifts running during the eclipse. Uphill travel will not be permitted however. They are in the path of totality.

Re: Mountain Green Sales?
While $175/ft strikes me as lower end of the scale, 1MM for 2,100 feet does sound luxurious. That's $476/ft and you already own the land. Since the home was described as "designed" that likely invalidates all the usual averages. Does it have a long driveway, lots of glass, complicated flo...

...doing the best they can ... This phrase always bugs me. Is that the good news or the bad news? I think Mike is being honest with alll the negative events that they have had to deal with lately. killingto0n has had a few top level people retire recently. Hard to fill those shoes with someone who ...

Re: 2024 BMMC KZONE campsite is Saturday April 6TH
I don't understand what the rush is to close Stage I prior to BMMC. Especially considering they didn't get it open until mid January. They spent all that money on the lodge, making snow down there twice and just got a lease on life for GE, etc. Could be staffing issues. Are the J 1's heading home t...

And using some of that $35K plus extra per year to go do some real skiing out west or in Europe no doubt. I'm a little down on Killington this season (and the past few). I've opted not to renew my season pass... So where will you be purchasing a season pass too? I get 3, all midweek to keep the cos...

Re: SkyeShip Gondala > Number of busted chairs..
Face it, Mother Nature kicked the NE ski industriy in the balls this winter with the weather during Christmas week. Big money maker for the industry. Along with the flooding which destroyed existing infrastructure cutting off acess for paying customers during the off season. This diverted their reso...

Re: SkyeShip Gondala > Number of busted chairs..
I ski sugarbush/Ellen/smuggs 2-3 weekdays a week and make it down to Killington about one every two weeks. I have ~40ish ski days his year, 8 of them at K. Understaffing is an issue across the board, Bush just shutdown heavens gate-- equivalent to K closing canyon and going superstar and Snowden on...
