Re: Expansion
I wouldn't exactly be surprised if they're hedging their bets a bit until we get a slightly better idea about the systems coming through next week. Some of the model runs are pretty grim, especially at lower elevations. Not sure it makes any sense to be trying to make a run to SS Base if it's lookin...

Re: Skier charged with Manslaughter
Trail map for the place says the trail in question is an intermediate (and likely the easiest run off that peak/pod) that loops around the outside of a pod and gets fed into by steeper single diamond equivalents for the lower/runout section. Wouldn't be surprised if it occurred soon after one of tho...
Re: expansion
Nitpicking, but Hunter's (pre-acquisition + North expansion, when they still had posted figures online) claimed 10,320gpm. I would assume it hasn't decreased.

Re: What skis do you ride
Liberty V76. Picked them up on sale last year, loving them so far.
Good for typical eastern conditions, and a fun ski with some life to it. Would like to pick up something wider for real powder days, but it's functional enough to make do for everything for now.

Re: EDIT - THEY"RE RETURNING- YIKES ! Bridgewater / Rte 4 Speed Trap Is No More !
From the Vermont Standard Sheriff deputies return to Bridgewater on Sept. 1 The Windsor County Sheriff’s Office will resume daily traffic patrols in Bridgewater and Bridgewater Corners. “We’re looking to run the program for a couple of months and see how it goes, and see what the numbers are,” Sher...

Re: How Many People Die Skiing or Snowboarding At Ski Resort
I think these numbers are largely innacurate. I think I heard that about 3 or 4 people die at Killington per year. Killington does not nearly make up 10% of skier visits. I don't think the count is that high for K. That said, I wouldn't be surprised if the in-bounds death counts are heavily weighte...

Re: Les Otten in the News .....
In addition, the 6,000 college students from MA that used MA driver licenses for ID in 2016 will not be voting this time around. You must have a valid NH ID to vote now, meaning that you are a NH resident and not a MA resident. The college students are why NH voted for Dems in 2016. All NH college ...

Re: Is The Old Lower Juggernaut Still Skiable?
I was wondering if the old part of the jug between the bottom of bear and Great Beastern was still skiable(ish). That would be a cool adventure sometime. According to the trail map, it’s still within the resort boundaries. Someone build a house near the East mountain road there, but I could always ...

Re: Expansion 2019-2020
They should just go back to East Glade and West Glade. Still not sure why Otten renamed them besides wanting to artificially boost his trail count. Neither is actually a glade at this point (or any time in the past few decades), so while I'd like the old names back, I do kind of get why they're pro...

Good day on the hill, nice snow in most places. Parking lots were suprisingly full, didn't feel that busy on the hill. :?c Spent a while lapping South Ridge. Needles did open later on in the day, skied over there for a bit in the afternoon. No idea if this is supposed to be the last weekend for Stag...

Re: Brewers Fest
Romanov's Revenge sounds disgusting. It was pretty good, actually. Never would have guessed it's 18% ABV. First session was nice. Longest line was Lawson's (as expected), but it moved well and I didn't see anyone run out of product. No issue using up your tickets in the 3 hours. Well organized even...

Skied it early in the day, very nice conditions throughout. Felt weird to be flying down it at speed rather than going through the bumps, though.

Re: Upper Ramshead Trails / Poma Relocation
Does anyone know if with the relocation of the Snowdon Poma to Swirl on Ramshead whether the lift will access the upper Ramshead trails that were abandoned when the chairlift was shortened in 1997? Well. Considering that the peak of ramshead is now national forest land. No it will not go to the pea...

Re: Good news. New Lifts. Gondi Upgrade.
That post is about 5 years old. I'd love to see Lower Sunrise reopened but I know it most likely won't happen. And it has nothing to do with this thread. I'm pretty sure K doesn't have access to that land any more. So it's impossible. IIRC (and honestly, not sure I do) the lower sunrise area was sw...

Re: Good news. New Lifts. Gondi Upgrade.
South Ridge: The Snowdon Quad exists and is "free", which is probably why we're getting a South Ridge lift at all. And with no turn in the lift, it still ought to be faster than the last one. I consider that a positive. :Toast I don't think the resort could ever justify the cost of a new l...
