Re: Ski Bum 2019/2020
Skiing on the race course should be Frozen with some soft on top. If it breaks through the trough is tough. Some not much soft snow on the proper line. Sounds good to be ski able but don't hold your breath. Watch the world cup races, lots of snow flying but at the end they didn't touch the base. Whe...

Re: I see your 6 seat bubble and raise you to an 8 pack bubb
So what costs more? An 8 pack bubble or a gondi like K1? Seems like the gondi is a little better in wind? Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk Gondi might be better in the wind, butt taking your skis off sucks. And Loon has a 4 passenger gondola already, which they also replaced the cabins on last ...

Re: Question About the Alpine Training Venue Poma
How does Sunrise work? Owned by the HO but maintained and operated by K? Sunrise was built and operated under a contract with the Mountain. They are supposed to have access to the mountain and chair from the week before Christmas to a time in March or so, conditions permitting. I'm sure an owner th...

Re: Farewell to Win /Alterra Closes Purchase of Sugarbush
Still have my "Thanks Win" T shirt. The change over of K to Powdr was a nightmare. Thanks to Win we extended the season and had some great days of skiing. Mike S is in the same boat as Win, knowing how the industry should work. Best of luck to the new management team. Any word on Steve Whi...

My Father was raised in Yonkers. Besides Navy Bean Soup, he always got the Chowder in the red sauce, Manhattan style.rogman wrote:Bah, the heathen would probably order Manhattan Clam Chowder.

Re: VT proposes 55mph speed limit on interstates
Way Back When, Wyoming finally passed the 55 mph law and all the roads went from 70 - 75 (even on 2 lanes). We would drive our AF convoy on 90 trying not to be too obvious for speeding (60 mph). Ranchers and local business stopped using I-90 and instead used local dirt roads. Here we are on 90 doing...

Another thread quickly spirlaing into the Kzone quagmire !! How bout a Ski-Off to decide? Or would it be a Blow-Off? Looking back, I wonder if any other resort could compete with our team. Recent accomplishments include the Mixing Bowl fan gun incident and let us not for the Vertigo Ice Cone !!!!! ...

Re: How many days have you skied/ridden this 2019-2020 seaso
For someone who skied nearly 100 days during the years I worked (yeah, right) I am down to maybe 30 Plus days. Hopefully this mid week trip will at least move me closer to double digits. ONE so far and I cannot be stable enough to do the bumps or heavy powder. They shoot horses, don't they. Next ye...

Anyone else use FireFox for the browser?
Fired up my windows and a different page showed up. Most of my bookmarks are still working along with some other links but FireFox wants a new log in filled out. May be an opportunity to change over to micro soft.

Re: Dear Killington, Swirl is not a trail . . . .
The only issue I have is that the Alpine Training Poma is something that the the public will never get to use, yet it counts as a Killington lift as if their public customers can actually use it. Take it off the lift list if not available to the public. By public I mean those who do not get special...

Re: Science Rant, Not politics: Can CO2 cause "Climate Chang
Place a nice big carbon tax on the masses and we could really ramp up our defense spending. Carbon tax sounds great, but which part of government would control it and set the tax limit? Know of any government that says "fixed tax" but within a year or so call it a revenue source for speci...

[quote="Big Bob"]If they keep a 20 degree temperature it must never melt! Does the snow last forever or does it need changing every now and then?[/quot] In the Rockies if they don't get a refresh the snow evaporates due to low humidity. You can hang your wash out on the clothes line and on...

FYI, WORLD CUP GS
Did not see a schedule for the GS today. NBC has delayed coverage which is set for 12:30. Not sure how well it will be or if they may want PPV. I have DISH on channel 159, NBC Sports channel, NBCSP. Others may have a live feed beginning with 1st run (around 10:30). Hoping they show at least a delaye...
