A 1974 Ford F100, almost all original; a real survivor. In 1978, when I was 18 I bought almost the exact same truck used. I found this one in Winchendon, MA a few years ago and just had to have it.

After I bought it, I started a topic about, "what was your first vehicle". It's a good topic:

I thought I knew that truck. Good for you for keeping history alive and well. I live just over the DMZ in tax free NH.

I seem to remember that if you cut them back at the wrong time of the year they don't flower as much. Mine is all done flowering now and is drying up. I'll look for the book for perennials an see what they say and post if I find anything.

BTW, your phlox, petunias and marigolds look great.

Ronni said different plants will blossom at different times of year. I cut mine back in September and it flowers quite well about mid August. I keep thinking I killed it as it doesn't really start growing until June.

Today was a lazy day, I didn’t do much except cut the bottom branches off of my tomato plants due to some air borne fungus that starts on the bottom the branches and moves upward. The branch removal did expose the number of tomatoes I have on each plant. I counted 48 tomatoes on just one plant. Finally, I picked two tomatoes, only half ripe; I couldn’t wait any longer. Between yesterday and today I picked over a dozen cukes and put them on ice. Mrs. f.a.s.t. will preserve them tomorrow; even though we already have enough to last till next spring. I suggested she should sell them at a farmer’s market. I also picked three eggplants which she will grille for dinner tonight. Luckily, we have had almost an inch of r*in in the last week where I live. Great for all the veggies. However, I noticed surface weeds everywhere too, in all the places that I just weeded last weekend. The never ending battle continues.

Two pumpkins a little smaller than a basketball. Only on vine 10 days. I need to cut the end of the vine and burry it.

Freeski, those are all beefsteak tomatoes.

Mrs. f.a.s.t. used the eggplants today to make eggplant parmesan.

Are the pumpkins going to be bigger this year, how often and what do you feed them, water them?
What are those red and yellow flowers in the planter?

I don't know the name of the flowers in the planter but I've seen them before. Are the purple flowers part of the monarda family?

Nasturtium and yes, Bee Balm. First time growing Nasturtium. They are very easy to grow and you can eat the whole plant. Had to look up Monarda, Bee Balm is growing when the snow melts. Always great to smell it in the spring when cleaning up the garden.

Nice onions. :like
fast: Sorry I didn't see your question until today. I hope the pumpkins are going to be bigger. There's a lot of things you can do to grow big pumpkins. I only do a couple. I've heard people say burry the vines. That doesn't make any sense to me. I start with a mound about a foot thigh, 3 feet across with 1/3 compost, 2/3 of native sandy loam with a good handful of all purpose slow release 10-10-10 and two good shovels of dehydrated cow manure. Water is the key like with tomatoes, at least once a day. Each week I give each hill of two plants 2 gallons ofJack's Bloom Booster 10-30-20. I also pack a little mud (1/2 dirt, 1/4 compost, 1/4 dehydrated cow manure) where the vines are rooting near the pumpkins. This weekend I need to cut the end of the vines and pack mud around it.
