NSR. Grateful Dead

Post by Bubba »

What is it about driving along on a sunny day with the Dead blaring on the radio that puts a smile on my face every time?

Maybe has something to do with your "location".

Small wheel turn by the firing rod
Big wheel turn by the grace of G-d......

Probably the fact that at your age, you are still being issued a driver's license by the state.

Get your hands on everything you can from all of 1977. If you don't have them already, I can burn the whole year for you. Got 'em all. each and every one. G-smashed can vouch for that. All soundboard and matrix recordings. All excellent quality.

Trust me bud..1977.

There are some heads that swear by Cornell 77. They say it's the best Dead Show ever. Me? I don't even think it was the best show that week.

Let me know what you DON'T have from 77, especially April/May, and the fall as well. All of it I guess.

you're right about cornell 77. way over-rated. the night before & after are both better and the 2 florida shows later in the month may be the best of them all. the one from dp3 has an estimated>eyes>wharf rat>terrapin>dew. sickness. put it on tonight and thank me in the morning ...

Junior - I'm gonna take you up on the 1977 offer!

My first show was Englishtown Labor Day 1977.

Nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile.
Goes to show, you don't never know
Watch each card you play, and play it slow
Don't you let that deal go down
Don't you let that deal go down

Looks like its going down no matter what I do !!!

I'll just burn multiple copies of the whole year and whoever wants a set, let me know. Prolly easier that way.

Getting back to the original question...

Isn't this related to reminiscing over earlier times ... young, carefree, wide-eyed, full of hope and anticipation, few economic challenges, cheap beer, college girls/hometown girls, antidisestablishmentarianism, peace/love...
(add to the list at will).

We remember those days ... Big challenge was having a dime and the right number... Then finding a phone booth

Dead standard classics evoke happy thoughts for each and all of our friends.
Music that transcends time, class, politics, religion ...
In short supply today.
