Probably running it for 2 reasons

#1 - certainly for future expansion potential

#2 - there's probably plenty of water left in the line as it makes its way back to the base, but very little air left in these temps. Since the fan gun doesn't need any air from the line because of it's on board compressor, they're probably running it just because they can

Anyone know if a major valve set is near the mouse trap fan gun? That apparently has been running by itself almost the entire time. Wonder if they use it as pressure relief (and get some base built on a high traffic area in addition).

my guess is what Dr. Jeff and Machski said.

Return line, pressure relief, blow snow while you can without using any air.

Late start but when I arrived they still had snowmaking on the top of Superstar. Wet guns running on Upper Great Northern and Great Northern down to Kalink to access the chair by going around. Warm weather coming in so could be a difficult week ahead.

Nothing going on the runout. It looks like a pipe repair took place at the bottom of Royal Flush recently.

Mike confirmed that the pipe repair has delayed opening the canyon a couple of days with an all go for Saturday. He did note that they like to open East Fall under guns to let the skiers pack the trail.

Since they're opening Canyon and Snowshed this weekend, I expect them to expand into Needle's soon and then go to Bear. Hopefully they can get all base areas by Christmas.
