Northeast Passage
I've always been interested in K's history and found the northeast passage to be an interesting chapter. When I visited over MLK weekend I stayed at cedarbrook hoping to be able to ride home. Saturday night was a failure as I ended up on sunrise trail accidentally and had to hike most of the way. My aim had been to ride thunderball or the judge. Sunday I took sundog which was far better but I still missed my intended trails so was the northeast passage midstation uphill from the rest?
I'm interested in experiences from people who've done it recently or even better, those who remember from the 80s.
Was there a bridge/tunnel back then or was lumbar hill road not around yet?

Re: Northeast Passage
Both thunder all and judge are totally overgrown. If you want to ski them, you will need to clear them first. Sorry. That chapter is all but over. Even the woods are tight off the mid-station. But yes the mid-station is higher elevation than Sunrise village and was the only place for good skiing back then.

Re: Northeast Passage
I hit that up maybe 5/6 years ago with Barnibus. We didn't have much trouble and its a quick hike. Can eat a nice lunch in the old lift terminal.

Re: Northeast Passage
Place needs a bushwhacker or a bunch of guys with machetes and a few 6- packs real bad. A little summer loving and it would be a great spot once again.
