Killington employee dead after Skyeship terminal accident
Very sad. Sounds like this happened in the storage building at the midbase?

I have known Jeff since the 80's. Nice quiet guy who was always happy to talk to me when I would see him on the mountain. Used to hang out at his place in Ptttsfield in the 90's. Lives near Rutland now. Will be missed by all who worked and played with him.

Horrible, just horrible. Just a reminder how dangerous working on the lifts can be.
Condolences to his family, friends and coworkers.

chalker, his nickname, and i go way back .. he left for awhile and came back from a ski area out west where he had gotten into a very bad gondola accident out there. He had been through alot and always tried to keep his spirits up. Will miss his friendly face.....

So sad to hear of his death from Rusty. Rusty told me that he was a loner. Condolences to any family he may have. May he rest in peace.
Re: Killington employee dead after Skyeship terminal acciden
we were walking thru the tunnel from Snowshed to Rams head when he came through on the sled. It was very intense.
Im wondering though why he wasnt wearing any find of fall prevention harness and lanyard. When I go into UTC facilities for work, any time Im 10 feet or higher off the ground I am required to wear the fall arrest gear. I thought it was an OSHA requirement

Probably is like all the roofers here are supposed to wear them.BoozeTan wrote:we were walking thru the tunnel from Snowshed to Rams head when he came through on the sled. It was very intense.

Often they feel they are too constricting and opt out.
Big fines if they are caught but it never seems like they get caught.
Same with those who opt not to wear seat belts.
Still a sad situation.
