Re: Not so Heavenly
Looking at the cam it doesn't look promising that they will be open. Lifts are buried. http://www.skiheavenly.com/video-and-in ... -cams.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Not so Heavenly
Spring break 1982, when everyone else was in Ft. Lauderdale, a group of us were in Tahoe. Last run of the last day after 6 days, was GunBarrel. Was a warm late winter day and the moguls were huge, I mean really huge. Base temp was probably over 50 and half way down, the snow got really heavy. By the time I got down, I was done but the memories linger.brownman wrote:Sick for a 24 hour period.

Re: Not so Heavenly
Will never forget first time seeing Gunbarrel from the base lodge and thinking .. 'this place ain't so big'.
What a surprise once you clear that first ridge and see the expanse of terrain .. all the way down to the cacti.
Hope they get all the avi work properly done, as this last storm looks like it set up multiple slab layers.

Re: Not so Heavenly
today was pretty heavenly. opened up gun barrel at around 1230. waist deep in the woods in spots if you sank down. skiers left and right woods down gun barrel were insane. all time conditions and a few more feet predicted for tonight.
mount rose was closed because the mount rose highway was closed.

Re: Not so Heavenly
Looks like things are still a mess out there. Most resorts closed again today. Power outages. Supermarkets running out of food and gas stations running out of gas.
Re: Not so Heavenly
Mt Rose announced via fb this afternoon that they will "try" to operate tomorrow. They haven't spun since Sunday. Their fb page has some pretty unbelievable photos.RustyK wrote:Wow. Even Mt. Rose is closed.
