Another blue bird day with high temperatures and soft snow. Everything skied great including Skyhawk, lower Ovation and all the Canyon runs. Only problem is that the warm temperatures and sun are eating away at the natural snow so Flume has many gaps, Royal Flush was closed (see pic below). Thimble and Dreamaker headwall are skiable but there are some gaps. Skied the Cascade and Downdraft headwalls a few times on my way to various Canyon runs. Breakway was in good shape this morning but the runout was bit sticky.

Februspring in full effect. No real bump build up in spite of the heat. Lots of melting though.
GIS was in full regalia.
Lake Superstar
Superstar in the afternoon. See how few people? See how the glaze is bump proof? See how little snow there is in the bank for May?
Caught a few runs with Ozzie. Temp was 46 on the peak and 64 on the back yard deck with puffs of a very warm breeze.

That bank deposit is discouraging. Jay's 340" is the money.Mister Moose wrote:Februspring in full effect. No real bump build up in spite of the heat. Lots of melting though.

Soft spring bumps galore on Cam Am today:
Re: Thursday 2/23/17 report
Everything was very easy today. Skied Ovation from the headwall to the gondola without stopping and wasn't tired when I got there. Pure corn the whole way.
The few bumps that were around were miraculous. Old Needles and upper Cascade/Downdraft were great. Even the troughs were cream cheese. There just wasn't enough traffic to create any new lines.
Clouds pushed in at around 11:00 but less than an hour later it was bluebird for the rest of day. It was like a great day in May, except the whole mountain was open.

I didn't ski the Royal Flush today. There was a lot of trails with good snow to ski. I will wait until we get more snow before I ski the Flush again.skiadikt wrote:i hope that didn't discourage you from skiing the flush
