A day for Speed. COLD, but only a slight wind. Everything I skied was groomed smooth and fast.
Thanks to GIS and the Mrs. for the shout out at the peak. Met their friends and saw Shortski holding down the fort even if not in full ski gear.

Next report from SR Wednesday.

I predict that we will be hiking for turns June 1st no different than the last few years.

No lack of effort on mountain opps. A March full blown assault is welcome and much needed. Pretty impressive from yestetday until today. Let's go June! Thank a snowmaker! Thank a groomer! Thank Mike! Get some spring turns.

Mother nature is the only one that can answer the question of June turns.

You are correct...and both f.a.s.t. and GIS can be correct...they can hike for turns on June 1st, but I'll wait for the lifts spinning on the weekend June 3rd/4th (as K would likely switch over to weekend only lift operation)!

The melt rate the last week in May has been horrific. You go from deep edge to edge to mud fields in just 3 or 4 days. If Killington wants to put June in the logbook (And it seems they do) and the snow allows, they will take June 1st and then open the following weekend if the snow lasts. It's day by day at that point.

We need to move out west so we can ski REAL snow in June this year.

I'm afraid the real snow at Killington is going to be gone by Tuesday.

I'm still expecting a couple more large snowstorms...I remember an April (could be around 10 years ago, I'm old/can't exactly remember/place the exact year) that I skied a bunch of powder days, a few of them were significant.
