NSR: Buttermilk Falls

Post by icedtea »

Hey, heading up July 4 weekend with my folks and dogs. Was thinking about heading to Buttermilk Falls one day, I am not sure if I was there years back with Barnibus or another hole.

Any advise? Better place to go by K?

Nothing better than a nice swim hole with rock ledges and cool clear stream. It's the summer equivalent of a powder day.

Be very careful by the road and near the falls. There are tons of poison ivy. The dogs got it on them and gave it to me last year. It is all over the place and hard to avoid.

There's also another jumping spot further upstream from what is listed as swimming hole #3. The one I am speaking of has the highest drops. I definitely don't recommend diving head first from it though. It's only deep right up close to the rock face. 6 or so feet away from the wall it gets shallow in a hurry.

Found a video of some dude "Crazy Mitch" jumping from the spot I'm talking about
