Made it over to try out Casey's, figuring the opening kinks have been smoothed out.

Had a G&T from the offerings, liked it, but not wowed. Lots more combos there to try, so jury's out. The beer list is better than Applebees, but mostly uninspired. (Inspired would be bringing in BBC's Hoosac Tunnel, a very good amber and a railroad theme. Drop Sam Adams and bring in the local Hop N Moose) The spinach salad had great mixture of cranberries, candied pecans, blue cheese (Substituted for the goat cheese) and cucumber. Yummy. Ms Moose liked her bacon wrapped scallops, large, meaty and cooked well, but missing some seafood sweetness. My Rueben was outstanding. The grilled bread was crispy without a touch of over grilling. The marbled rye was delicious. The pastrami was lean, tender, and had an extra hit of smoky flavor. The slaw was crunchy and very fresh with added veggies not just cabbage. The cheese was a layer of molten stretchy cheesy gruyere Swiss goodness. Get extra napkins. It's apparently a special off menu item that doesn't leave. It should stay.

A nice list of desserts, we tried the sticky pudding. A homemade ball of dense lightly spiced cake with a perfect caramel sauce and real not out of a can kitchen whipped cream. Delicious.

2 drinks, 1 salad, 1 scallop appetizer, 1 Rueben, 1 dessert, tax and tip ran $85. Seems high, but the food is very good. If they pull this off when they are busy they should do well.

Had a mini-GNO at Casey's ..... noticed the improvements as soon as walked in door .... and, Anne was back :P All of our meals were excellent - Mac and cheese, flank steak cheese steak, and pulled pork, last two off specials menu with salads in place of fries!! Beer selection was quite good, but I'm not an IPA fan. Nice pour of wine too! We'll definitely be back, but once the word is out and the full on season is going, I'm guessing it'll be tough getting seats at the bar
