Safe travels .... may want to check road conditions first 25.2 degrees here, still dark but snow surface looks pot marked. Heard from a friend that walkways and pillars are iced. Be careful out there!!! News reporting to wait until at least after noon today to get on the roads!!!!

My thermometer (across from Pico) currently reads -16 and Weather.Com says -14 in Killington. I used to ski in these kinds of temperatures; not anymore.

I'm seeing -8 two feet away from the house and under a woodpile roof which might feel a little warmth off the outside wall (1700 feet). Car thermometer is -10.

Wouldn't surprise me if the hold is, at least in part, power related. Real time price is around $200/MWH and VELCO shows load trending above forecast. Request for voluntary load reductions from large customers would be normal in these conditions. GIS may know more.

I doubt that considering every other major ski resort in Vermont has lifts spinning right now, more likely saving money by not spinning lifts for small crowd this morning, kinda sh*t if you ask me.

Are you planning to ski today? I am but will only ski off the gondolas. No way do I want to sit on a lift today so I don't blame them if they don't want to run all of them. From reports this morning, there a very few people at the mountain at this time.

Maybe all those resorts are not experiencing these extreme temperatures and winds. I saw the news this morning and Montpelier is much warmer than Rutland.
