A few pictures. Rime and the Reason Terrain Park were open. Nice ungroomed line skiers left of the towers. Upper East Fall was still under the guns. I'm sure the spring makes it tough to get coverage. They are ready to go to blow T2B, however I expect they are waiting for cooler temps, perhaps they'll start Thursday Night.

Great Job by Killington, new hat, free lunch, and the lucky first 50 got some Yeti swag. Never got real crowded; suspect the afternoon was dead.

Yep. Passed Mad Hatter on the stairway.

Afternoon Report #1. Hard to complain. Back on the sticks, good weather and great lunch. Thx Mike and Co.

Pretty firm in the middle but pretty good snow on the sides. Left side upper Rime with some bumps and decent cover, right side pretty flat but ok. Funky thin cover bump line on left side of lower Rime with a real kicker into the middle of the trail if u missed a turn. Best late day line was on the right of Lower Rime, which also held the sun a bit longer.

Did not venture all the way out to Reason. Left it for the park rats.

No lift line! Chair at about 35% capacity while I was there.

Great to see some of my friends again.

Word of caution, the stairway [steps and flats] was pretty slick.

Today felt like June 2. We found the sunniest Bay 1 tailgating spot. The skiing was good, too.

Perfect sunshine r*ined down on the elated opening day crowd. Gondola corral was about half full when the ropes dropped to kick off the season. Reward of winter hats that were given out got quickly stashed. Carefully descended the stairs arriving to the welcome to winter white world of the North Ridge. Snapped in, tapped the poles then pushed off making the first turns in five months. Firm groomed surface felt good under the skis. Quickly turned our attention to the ungroomed snow on the side of the trail under the lift. Transforming the line into a decent bump line took most of the morning. Skipped the free lunch opting to hit the parking lot for a kickoff tailgate. Sweet start to the season.

Opening Day Grade B+

Funny how early season Rime becomes 5 trails - left and right upper, left, center and right lower. And Reason is "all the way over... like almost to South Ridge. (!)
