New Trail Map?

Post by jayisking »

I'm wondering if anybody else has noticed that K seems to have a new trail map on their site.

http://www.killington.com/site/mountain ... map/winter" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It is strange because the first page shows the new one, but if you click it for full size it reverts to the same one from the past few years. The new one isn't detailed enough for me to notice any actual changes but it is clearly a different form, closer to the Vistamap style like Stowe uses, and showing terrain and contours more realistically. I think somebody posted about this a few months before since they have updated the bike map in the same way.

I've posted the "new" one below. If they're going to go with this new one I wish they would update the website with the high quality version so it can be seen better.

I'm a big fan of the James Niehues maps. This ones makes my eyes hurt.

Sweet. Looks like they've added 3 new trails. Need to look closely to find them

Not at all a fan of the new map. The old one was much easier to read.

Mount Snow switched over too this year unfortunately. :dislike

Some links lead to an unreadable map on a smart device; new map (once found) is much more readable, not pixelated on the text. Technology is significantly better relative to the old map. Still a PDF, but not derived from a jpeg.

Post above shows old style; link to new map here:http://www.killington.com/site/mountain ... il-map.pdf
