Lower Bunny WC Grandstand
Anybody here watch from Bunny last year?
Standing on the side of Superstar on Sunday, I saw bunches of people parked in spots up there throughout the day.

The viewing is good from the parking lot. Last year the two end trees blocked the view from the refreshment tent near the stage.

I actually have a grandstand ticket and plan on using it, certainly for the afternoon.
But I also want to ski, particularly in the morning, and figure it's a good view over there.

Re: Lower Bunny WC Grandstand
Viewing was great. We would time our K1 laps with the runs we wanted to see

Highline trail will have the best view. Hopefully it gets open.

Chatted wil Mike on their snowmaking plan and Highline is on their list to try open by the weekend. I gave my plug for Cascade but he said that was not very likely.tyrolean_skier wrote:I doubt very much they will open that trail by this coming weekend.biged wrote:Highline trail will have the best view. Re: Lower Bunny WC Grandstand
Certainly Highline would be great promo for the World Cup witnesses. And help the skiing/riding public this weekend. But the biggest driver is getting that trail covered while they have great temps to do it, they want it to be open solely for the race programs like KSC, KMS then then close it to the public 95% of the time. Public customer ticket/pass money going to early season snowmaking that supports the 1%.
Cascade or Bittersweet would win a public vote, I bet. Also throw on 8-10 guns on Conclusion, make some fun and separate the more accomplished faster customers from the lower bunny conflict with all abilities sharing one narrow swath. But no, it's about assigning limited resources to the 1%. I think it's great that the 1% get that trail running, but when nothing else is getting snowmaking expansion that's a big problem. Can't hire adequate resources to satisfy all interested parties? Then work to the priorities, which should be the 99% and not the 1%. And I llike to race, but you can't find public gates at Killington for years.

Re: Lower Bunny WC Grandstand
I dunno about the 1%, but if they can't hire enough, perhaps the wages are too low. There has been some press this year on the low unemployment rate in VT. I'm guessing wages for snowmakers/lifties hasn't risen as fast as lift ticket prices.da Pimp wrote: Can't hire adequate resources to satisfy all interested parties? Nastar at Killington would be fun, second the motion.

Re: Lower Bunny WC Grandstand
Killington needs to install automated snowmaking if they can't find help for $10/hour.

For many years, proprietors in this region have pointed at local employee reliability as a constant problem.
3 that I know on the Access Rd and more in Bridgewater and Woodstock.
Can just imagine what happens every morning in Rutland.
This is largely why we saw imported talent running lifts and bussing tables, likely still do ..
Power to the 1% .. be thankful there are any left here.
