Rams Skypeak update . . .

Post by MrsG »

The other thread got creepy :P

"5:35 pm 11/29/17--After a rather spring-like morning of soft snow and sunshine, winter has returned this evening. That's good news for Killington snowmakers, who fired up their guns this afternoon on expansion targets like Caper and Easy Street on Ramshead, and Bittersweet and Launchpad on Skye Peak. Both areas, Ramshead and Skye Peak, are slated to open later this week or this weekend, so stay tuned for more information. Expect guns to run on Mouse Trap and Highline tonight and tomorrow too, for resurfacing and added depth on these already open trails. . ."

Adding the Superstar lift really ups the amount of quality terrain that is available. While Caper is probably no one on here's favorite trail, it does serve an important purpose of adding an extra lift, lodge, and parking lot as well as giving low level skiers their own area so they don't end up on upper mountain terrain they can't handle. Once Snowshed gets done then it's onto Needle's and then Bear.

Rams head is definitely needed. Ski Patrol had to bring a lot of beginners that got in over their head down last weekend. I would come back this weekend for Superstar, Skylark and SkyHawk.

Proves my point exactly. They need to have terrain for all ability levels because if they don't the beginners will just end up on terrain way over their head. Also gives the Vale Lot people a lift to the rest of the mountain.

Happy about Ramshead, can get the lady out to start her second season on skis.

Wouldn't it be nice if they had the south fridge for high elevation early season beginner terrain.......

Said no one ever after they tried it, failed, and removed the mid station.
