monday 12/4/2017 report

Post by skiadikt »

just a glorious day on the hill. sunshine and warm temps. first day getting to hit the superstar pod. an occasional slick spot on supe & skye lark but both were similar flat & fast on good granular. will call highline rotd as that softened nicely in the sun. east fall a bit faster but still good. upper chute continues to have some of the best mm on the hill. nats like skyehawk & ridge run looked a bit boney & sketchy. at this point have to pick my battles.

It was a beautiful day to be on the hill, wherever you chose to ski. That is all.

A rare morning report from me!

Earlier posters pretty much summed it up.

ROTD = Highline.

Great day for a freshly tuned pair of fast skies [K2 Aftershock] while my normal ride is in the shop for a refresh.

December sun blasted away the morning mist at the start of the glorious ski day. Short Gondi delay had us starting on the old reliable Snowdon Quad. Sweet grooming on Mountain Training Stations and Mouse Run started the day. Launched over to Superstar were that last of the leftover blue painted ice chunks from the race were being ground up to star dust. Long shadows raced us down hill on Skye Peak. Race camp was in session for those adults with the inclination to adjust their angulation. We made our own drills of hip dumping, twisting and edging without any real goal but having fun. Highline soaked up the sun resulting in some of the softest snow on the hill.
