Very sad indeed. If you are familiar at all with Tempest, many townhomes directly off it but they are all on lower Tempest, which is a very generous Blue trail (if not for no other access, it would be green). However, from what it sounds like the teens hiked up Upper Tempest which is considerably steeper and would have been extremely fast on a tube given the granular conditions. Still tough and horrible for the families, but certainly not a good decision EVER on that slope and even more so given conditions present.

Feel bad for the families of these kids. May the one who died rest in peace and I hope the other one recovers from his injuries. Very sad indeed,
