Should I bother with snow tires at this point?

Post by spanky »

I still haven’t swapped out my all-season tires for my snows. I almost did in preparation for this weekend but figured I could get by without. Now with the incoming blowtorch/r*in, I gather we’ll be into March before winter returns.

Is there any hope for weekend winter driving conditions????
Never argue with idiots. They will bring you down to their level, then overwhelm you with their experience.

I never put mine on but at least I have a 4x4.

It will need 4 new skins in the spring.

keep in mind that the wetter march snow can be some of the greasiest, snottiest, slippery sh*t going. i wouldn't
risk it with kids in tow.

I have a 4x4 as well but it sucks in the snow with the stock 20” wheels and Goodyear fortera tires.

As of now, I’m leaving them off. Maybe March will force me to reconsider.

I think it’s a combination of the tire profile and such poor winter traction by the forteras. My Blizzaks are mounted on 18” wheels. Night and day difference.

Are the Blizzaks strictly a winter tire or all year round.

Oh yes. Very soft. Warm weather/pavement eats them up.

Thanks, I was not familiar with them other than hearing the name.
