Rudy wants to be top dog so I doubt he wants the job. Would also cut into his campaigning ability for the top slot in '08.

Besides, compared to Ashcroft, he's down right liberal. Don't think the far right would find him acceptable. He's both pro gay rights and pro abortions, both are anathema with conservatives.
