Like Obumer saying he will give tuition for free to go to 2 year Community Colleges, Where is the money? Where does VT think they will find the money to pay single payer, especially when the majority of residents can't afford any insurance.

require them to "finish" their education in order to qualify, provide loans for those classes required to "finish" then collect interest on said loans...or add other "indentured" type caveats...of course completion of a bachelors degree will eventually get you the same level of education and credentials as everyone else, so to set yourself apart you'll need to go on to graduate school which will also be funded via govt loans...and you eventually end up w a generation of 30 + year olds who've never had a job...and owe the govt a ton of money ( or servitude)...

Lots more people covered now in Vermont, particularly through expansion of Medicaid, but can they find a doctor to treat them?

http://digital.vpr.net/post/some-newly- ... -286323177" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

But there’s one big problem with Medicaid: It only pays doctors about 60 percent of what it costs to care for a patient. And it’s created a disturbing dilemma for many primary care doctors: Turn away Medicaid patients, or suffer financially for taking them on.

“Do you really want doctors answering the phone at their practice ... and caring, literally to the point of their own survival, what insurance you have before they’re willing to see you?” says Al Gobeille, chairman of the Green Mountain Care Board.

Maybe Tort reform would help? Maybe the socialist government should insure those who accept Medicaid to offset the cost of care.

Meanwhile, the Jonathan Gruber saga with Vermont and Vermont Health Connect continues. It now seems our state auditor is questioning Gruber's invoices.

Small amount of money involved based on size of the contract.

+1. The auditor should be focusing on areas with materiality. Then again, that kind of stuff doesn't generally make headlines.

How much did the single payer plan, eventually tossed out, cost the state?
