Trump - Suprise for the Debate

Post by Highway Star »

Just wanted to point out that we will see one or both of the following from Trump in this debate:

1. True, intelligent, informed presidential behavior, unlike we have seen from any interviews, rallies, or speeches.
2. A surprise topic of discussion, a 3rd rail of politics that hasn't been touched on previously.

Trump was exactly who he's been - inarticulate, uninformed, etc etc etc. He looked like an imbecile and likely alienated any independents teetering between he and Clinton. I was also surprised how little Trump talked about the e-mails and Clinton Foundation wasn't even a factor. He seemed unprepared.

well that's a whole lot of one sided predetermined bias..his topic knowledge especially pertaining to the economy was very good...He missed a big opportunity on cyber security... He should have led with

"For starters I'll have a secretary of state that follows the law and doesn't use the office to peddle influence and expose our national secrets via a bathroom server"...

Trump was very careful not to attack clinton too harshly, perhaps too careful...

Clinton was all talking points, all politician and all identity politics...exactly as expected...

Clinton's one strong point was she was able to make trump spend too much time defending himself on taxes ( his answer was good), race relations and particularly the joint law suit in the 70's ( he explained that well also) and on his inheritance and business ( he spent way too much time rambling on that and came back to it more than once)

Her "zing" lines all sucked and she failed at their delivery as well... the staying home preparing for the debate and to be president went over like a fart in church...

He dinged her a couple times but like I said above he missed his best opportunity to nail her on the email scandal...

Clinton definitely brought her A game while Trump did not...In fairness this was trump's first ever one on one debate whereas clinton has done it numerous times... I expect him to improve over the next two debates....Clinton will be the exact same over the next two debates....

All in all I doubt she won any new voters and I doubt trump lost any either...we'll see what the polls say in the next week or so...

IMO Holt was fair and mostly stayed out of the fray.. the question concerning "her look" was weak and should not have been part of the debate at all as it was a question directed at only one candidate...Now if he had phrased it something like " each of you has said the other is unfit for office, explain why?" I would have found that more appropriate...

well gee how else do you expect to gain any insight on this in the 12 hrs that has transpired so far? seems almost every analysis so far shows that the public thinks trump won...or do you just imagine that there are so many more trump supporters online vs clinton supporters ( yeah hilarious I know) that the results are skewed? either way that's a plus for trump who now leads CO and has closed the clinton lead in PA to 1.8...

I get that you hate trump but your personal feelings have zero bearing on the rest of the populace...

I don't expect any insights in 12 hours. I'll wait to see the polls in the next several weeks.

.. We get that you love Trump, but your personal feelings have zero bearing on the voting preferences of the populace.

Margin of error is a quite interesting phenomenon.
There is only one poll that matters .. Nov. 8th.

I doubt that either moved the needle last nite.
She was all policy and no nonsense.
He was all nonsense and no policy.
His birther response was a doozy. :-o

She was all policy talking pointsand no substance or realitynonsense.
He was all nonsenseramble and no policy.guess ya missed that while rooting for johnson...
His birther response was a doozy. :-o it was also a stupid question that clearly didn't pertain to BOTH candidates, same w the "presidential look" question...neither really should have been part of any "debate", there were plenty of more pertinent question that could have been asked...

das some funny sh!t there BM, first I don't love trump, I despise clinton and democrats in general...I also stated that neither was likely to have won any votes from the other...
All in all I doubt she won any new voters and I doubt trump lost any either...we'll see what the polls say in the next week or so...
and while I suppose we could just wait until next week or even Nov 8th for results however, time has not stopped so I posted a number of polls taken last nite that show what the majority of respondents think...how much weight one puts on that is up to them...

XJ's analysis was purely emotion based, predetermined. biased and not in line with what a seeming majority of others think...

right now the polls are trending in trump's favor... nothing last nite is likely to change that as even brain fallon stated:

"I don't expect any change in the polls," Clinton spokesman Brian Fallon says, while declaring his candidate clearly won.
and if the debate has zero effect on the polls thats a plus for trump...

so while you guys go on and on with wishful thinking, trump bashing and imagining there are more than two candidates in the running, I'm simply providing my own analysis along with that which is available online....

bottom line, trump didn't do anything to hurt his chances and clinton did nothing to help hers...

two more questions though:

how did johnson do last nite?

jill who?

It's almost like you didn't watch the debates. Trump looked like a dolt. Here's an example from the transcript...the layman voter has to be scratching their heads ...
ESTER HOLT
I will let you respond, that’s important. But I just want to get the answer here. The birth certificate was produced in 2011, you continued to tell the story and question the president's legitimacy in 2012, 13, 14, 15, as recently as January. So the question is, what changed your mind?

DONALD TRUMP
Well, nobody was pressing it. Nobody was caring much about it. I figured you’d ask the question tonight, of course. But nobody was caring much about it. But I was the one that got him to produce the birth certificate. And I think I did a good job. Secretary Clinton also fought it. I mean, you know, now everybody in the mainstream’s gonna say, that’s not true. Look, it’s true.

Sidney Blumenthal sent a reporter. You just have to take a look at CNN last week, the interview with your former campaign manager. And she was involved. But just like she can't bring back jobs, she can't produce.

LESTER HOLT
I'm sorry. I’m just going to follow up. I will let you respond because there is a lot there. We're talking about racial healing in the segment. What do you say to Americans --

DONALD TRUMP
I say nothing because I was able to get him to produce it. He should have produced a long time before. I say nothing, but let me just tell you. When you talk about healing, I think that I developed very, very good relationships over the last little while with the African-American community. I think you can see that. And I feel that they really wanted me to come to that conclusion. And I think I did a great job and a great service, not only for the country but even for the president in getting him to produce his birth certificate.

LESTER HOLT
Secretary Clinton.

HILLARY CLINTON
Well, just listen to what you heard.

Trump was beat up a little last night. He missed good opportunities and a little more substance would have gone a long way. Cankle had a good night health wise. I'd give Cankle the win. She got under his skin at times, but was unshaken herself. She put him on the defensive and he rambled on defending himself looking bad. So, I guess he doesn't pay taxes? Trump did hold his own though and all in all he came close to having a good performance. The big surprise was how biased Lester was. He didn't ask Cankle the tough questions and only interrupted her a couple of times. Holt was all about race every chance he got.

“Rosie O’Donnell, I said very tough things to her, and I think everybody would agree she deserves it, and nobody feels sorry for her,” Trump replied. - Idiot!

Many of Trump's unflattering moments came from questions "race baiter Holt" asked. He was setting him up to fail. Most of this line of questioning has nothing to do with ruling the country. Where were Cankle's questions about the foundation bribery, email and cover up and the mess Obama and Cankle have left us in the Middle East :?: :?: :?: On character issues Holt hit Trump hard. What about Cankle destroying Bill's rape victims and lying to the public for 30 years. Holt did everything he could to make Trump look bad and Cankle good. What about a plan to reduce the debt :?:
