United Technologies Corp. UTX -0.53%▲ said it would use tax overhauls* to repatriate at least $3 billion this year in cash parked overseas to help reduce debt from its planned purchase of aerospace specialist Rockwell Collins Inc.

The diversified industrial group has around $8 billion in overseas cash, and plans to bring back another $2 billion over the next two years as it continues the expansion of its aerospace business.

Just heard today UTC is upping to 5 billion the amount of repatriated cash to invest here in the US. This is very good news for CT, assuming the governor doesn't scare away the remaining vendors and UTC itself. The number of third parry vendors that supply parts and assemblies to UTC is huge.

Results matter, and CT is still behind the rest of the nation due to serious over taxation and reckless spending.

* Those are this administration's tax overhauls, not the last administrations, and not the losing party's. Those of you that are fond of saying the tax cuts don't benefit the little guy should talk to the thousands of UTC vendors, and the tens of thousands of those vendor's employees that will keep or get their above average employment due to this news.
