The New Killington...Powdr style
I thought Powdr might do the following to enhance the skier's experience:
1) Charge to view the website. Of course, there are several plans:
A) Big time viewer...unlimited view for $99/season
B) Heavy Hitter: limited to 60 views, never more than 1/day: $59/season
C) Light weight: $19 but blacked out 90 days of the season: Black out dates start Dec 21 and end Mar 20.
D) Pay per View: A bargain! Just $3.95 each time you want to see the site.
2) Options: Killington cam is $0.50/minute.
3) Any online reservation made is free if the value of your package is at least $4,500. Otherwise, online reservations cost $9.95/reservation
4) Parking fees: K-1 lot will now cost $19.95/day to park in. There's a shuttle to take you from your car to the K-1 base lodge. Cost? $1/adult. But kids are HALF-PRICE!
5) NO BAGGED LUNCHES allowed in K-1 lodge (except in upper loft). Access to upper loft will cost $4.95 per adult. But kids are HALF-PRICE!
The new Killington: 70% more but 20% less! HUH? Yup, 'cause 20% fewer people will now show up.
PS: Wait and see what's in store for 2008--2009!!!!

Toilet paper by the sheet.
Napkins only for those who buy food.
What next? Powdr will figure it out. And if they can charge you for it, they will.
What happens when there's no more land to sell?
There might be SOME good. I don't see as many folks taking ski lessons...so they might clean out some of the deadwood in skischool. Ski school could use a freshening up!

They do not have to hide or limit napkins or condoments. Just enforce a rule that says NO BROWN BAG LUNCHES IN THE LODGE. That way onlyl those who buy their overpriced food and beverages can get to the condoments.Powderputz wrote:Toilet paper by the sheet.

I am pretty sure they had signs previously that stated no refills.
Hey, be happy the jugs are still there. did they actually put water in them? And the Peak has been open for hiking and biking? That is unusual.

yeah I was going to say I thought those "no refills" were there before
Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.

The peak is open every day that the adventure center is, with full food services... K1 is just a couple snacks and drinks in summer... Soon to be without full cafeteria in winter too, midweek!Dr. NO wrote:I am pretty sure they had signs previously that stated no refills.
