Anyone know where Brewers Corner is located?

I think some folks around here forget they made stupid mistakes too when they were 22. It's not that technical of an area, but it's big, owurugby wrote:the joke is old nowGeoff wrote:It's right below Cooper's Cabin. You'll love it.
filled with deep snow, easy to get lost in and easier still to panic in.
That kid is somebody's daughter, and must've been scared to death, it's no joke.

That must have been pretty scary, out there watching the sun setting and wondering if they would ever get out of there. I let the scouts lead on some hikes and let them get "us" lost (we leaders know where we are).
We let them get to the point of being scared and re-direct them and most importantly tell them where and when they went the wrong way and what they could have done to prevent mistakes.
I am glad they are OK. I wonder what kind of fees they will incur for S&R.

You gotta be kidding me. If you are enough of a moron at age 22 to venture into the backcountry without basic orienteering skills, you deserve your fate. It's the same with boats. You constantly run into some tool offshore in the fog without a chart or compass. I learned dead reckoning as a kid in boats. I took orienteering when I was in college. I got my pilots license so I had to do the training all over again from the air.buzzkill wrote:I think some folks around here forget they made stupid mistakes too when they were 22. I think New Hampshire has it right with their proposed new rescue law. If they have to come and get you and you are neglegent, you have to pay the bill.

Ok fine, you're the smartest guy in world, and we mere mortals deserve the death penalty for making stupid mistakes.Geoff wrote:You gotta be kidding me. Agreed, S&R repayment for the fortunate survivors. And perhaps a modicum of slack for the young and reckless?

Wow, old. slow, no where to go. Are you going to take care of me in my old age....Oh wait you are. I start collecting in May. Hey can you and all the rest of the nine to fiver's work a little harder. We folks on fixed incomes rely on the economy always gaining, but if it doesn't we don't really care because we got COLA (cost of living adjustment). Thanks Teddy. I'm voting for Osama.Geoff wrote:

Jeez Shortski. I don't even buy your beers at the Long Trail. I learned years ago never to hand you a beer on the lift to take a sip... it always comes back empty.

Good for you, but note well: Obama represents change and perhaps it's time we changed that Ponzi scheme you seem to depend on.shortski wrote: Wow, old. slow, no where to go. It's not a Ponzi scheme, it a program offered by our government. Hi, I'm from the government and I'm here to help, just ask the people still living in trailer in New Orleans. Oh BTW plan on working some overtime this year. With the cost of living going up with inflation the COLA adjustment for 2009 should be around another 4-6%, oh yehaaaaaa, come to papa. BTW the SS check is going to buy a new Vet or be used to build a new house, thanks DAD. I should have embraced this democratic outlook years ago. It's nice to have an entitlement. I wonder if I qualify for free government cheese, and subsidized phone, cable, energy costs and property tax prebate, oh wait I already get that, but the free cheese would be nice.Coydog wrote:Good for you, but note well: Obama represents change and perhaps it's time we changed that Ponzi scheme you seem to depend on.shortski wrote: Wow, old. slow, no where to go. I'm off to go vote in the primary election, Barack Hussein Obama, be my momma.

Change is on the way, that's for sure. Being a religious fellow, I guess
we don't have to worry about him getting blowjobs in the oval office
while al-Qa'ida runs training camps nationwide, like the last hero of the Left

Forget it ShortSki, these guys go for euthanasia. After you get too expensive,
they're gonna put you down like old dog.
Yeah, I know what you mean - especially those Republican corporate entitlement programs, like the $7.0 billion no bid contract to Halliburton. Your tax dollars hard at work in Iraq.shortski wrote: It's not a Ponzi scheme, it a program offered by our government.
