vibes, Guilford Nh, and probably rochester NY. Bought tickets for Londonderry nh today for Billy's band. Bost would be a normal show for me, but 50th anniversay party for the in laws. Can't figure a way to bail on that one. up north festival looks kind of fun also.

5/8/77 is a ridiculously sick show..... maybe overrated, maybe not, either way it is sick
morning dew from that date is unreal...... best one i've heard......
8/27/72 field trip is epic too, containing one of what i consider to be the holy trinity of dark stars (along with 2/13/70 fillmore -- i have heard feb 13th referred to as "dark star day" before -- and my personal favorite of the three, 4/8/72 wembley) of course i've by no means heard them all, or even necessarily a majority.....
and "sing me back home" from the field trip is one of my favorite musical moments ive ever heard......
anyway, good recommendations all around in this thread......

Was this an outdoor concert ? If so, part of a strange series of concerts at the end of the spring semester known as "Slope Day" at Cornell.

all the dark stars you mentioned are great but i think the sickest was 2/11/70 fillmore east when peter green & duane allman came out & jammed. i was at that show and it was absolutely mind blowing. they opened with NFA. unfortunately i don't think any complete or good sound recordings of it exist.
"sing me back home" interesting ...

interesting, that sucks if there's no recording of that fillmore show, i'll have to research that...... sounds amazing, i pretty much worship duane's playing......
as far as sing me back home, i just mean that particular version...... i don't know why it's just so intense for me.....

Re: for the heads. Play Dead Cornell 5/8/77
I will have to remember this post come Labor Day this year. 40th anniversary of my first Dead show, and a great one at that, at Englishtown NJ.
Goes to show, you don't never know
Watch each card you play, and play it slow
Don't you let that deal go down
Don't you let that deal go down
Looks like its going down no matter what I do !!!

and i'm sure you know they just officially released this show as a stand alone and part of a boxed set w/ 5/5, 5/7 & 5/9. spring '77 certainly was a high point for the band.ozzy wrote:Happy 40th Anniversary to Cornell 5/8/77
