Just came off the hill. They're blowing upper Wildfire big time and running the Bear quad so it looks like that will be open tomorrow. Unfortunately, lower Skye Burst, the old lower Bear Claw, is fenced off in preparation for the Dew Tour so the only way down will be lower Wildfire which should be a mess by 10:00 AM. Mountain is in pretty good shape but still very limited terrain, much as it has been for the season to date. Weather is OK, temps in the 20s - 30s with possible snow shower or even a few drops of NCP on Saturday.

The mountain has been deleted and locked. Don't bother coming...

Nice soft snow and fun bumps on Cascade. They shut the guns off early PM so you even could see. Sounds like its on the grooming list for tonight so that will ruin that.

Glad I went back and skied it until the closing bell. I knew they would ruin it by grooming it.

Trail Creek parking lot is empty - maybe it will be an uncrowded weekend and skier traffic will be on the light side - well we can only hope - In any case it will be better here than in Lake Tahoe (which is where I was supposed to be this coming week) - they have no snow. In fact K'ton has more acreage open than any place around Lake Tahoe.

Blew the whole top half of 49'er yesterday only lit up today on the top 1/2-3/4. Upper KA lit up all day, who knows might open tomorrow. Lower 49'er, KA,& Pike were sweet. It's amazing how long an inch or so of new fluff can last when there's nobody skiing it.

Oh how were things over at K today?

Those young U. Conn. girl racers were eye candy, only adds to the ambiance.

We went into the Garlic at 8:15pm and it was 23 degrees. Came out at 10:15 and it was 44 degrees. The warm front came farther north than forecast big time. Even NOAA doesn't know how warm it is out yet.

Spring day tomorrow?

I'm at the Best Western, and it's probably half occupancy or less from appearances. While that's not exactly great for local businesses, I'm thinking it's not going to be a very crowded weekend on the hill.

The only line at K was for the gondola during the week, everything else was walk on. The mountain was still skied heavily. Pico was like your own private Idaho however.
