I just read the first 10 pages last night.

Geoff is reading "mommy porn"?

Yep. I want to see what the fuss is all about. I'm expecting a 2012 version of the old Harold Robbins 2 orgasms per chapter format. The first 10 pages had no sex. No orgasms. Two thumbs down. Hopefully, it will pick up.

Afterwards, I'm planning to publicly "gift" the trilogy to somebody to create an embarrassing moment.

I'll raise my hand and say "I purchased the trilogy." I read and somewhat enjoyed the first book. I slogged through the second one and gave up after two or three chapters of the third one. Numbers two and three were returned to Barnes and Noble...but number one had had a run-in with a glass of wine. ; )

What you really mean to say is "...but I accidentally knocked my vibrator into my glass of wine and it spilled on the book"

Something like that...!

I'll be interested to hear your review. ; )

Watch the movie afterwards, Robert Blake was real good in it.

Steve Jobs
The Omnivore's Dilemma (Michael Pollan)
The Hunger Games Trilogy
The Big Short (Michael Lewis)
Zero Day (David Baldacci)

All good reads and recommended. Looking for some recommendations.

Did "Zero Day" involve the Camel Club or does he have other characters in it?

BTW, I just finished The Associate by Phillip Margolin and it had a lot of twists and turns in it.

Never heard of Camel Club, so I guess your answer is no.

Spanky, Baldacci has written several books where the Camel Club are the main characters in them. I have quite a few if you are ever interesterd in reading them.

this sounds good. Have to check it out. Thanks.

Nice picture of Air Vehicle one. It currently sits in a hanger at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Museum. Air Vehicle two was lost in a mid-air collision on 06-08-1966.
On 8 June 1966, XB-70A #2 was in close formation with four other aircraft (an F-4, F-5, T-38, and F-104) for a photoshoot at the behest of General Electric, manufacturer of the engines of all five aircraft. With the photoshoot complete, the F-104 drifted into contact with the XB-70's right wing, flipped over, and rolling inverted, passed over the top of the Valkyrie, struck the vertical stabilizers and left wing and exploded, destroying the Valkyrie's rudders and damaging its left wing. With the loss of both rudders and damage to the wings, the Valkyrie entered an uncontrollable spin and crashed into the ground north of Barstow, California. NASA Chief Test Pilot Joe Walker (F-104 pilot) and Carl Cross (XB-70 co-pilot) were killed, while Al White (XB-70 pilot) ejected, sustaining serious injuries, including one arm being crushed as it was caught in the clamshell-like escape capsule as it closed around him just before ejection from the aircraft.

Finished I Am Ozzy this weekend, starting on Slash this week.
If you are a Black Sabbath or Ozzy fan you really should read Ozzy's book. I laughed thru quite a bit of it and Ozzy's voice and personality really come thru. There were alot of funny stories in there as well as some sad stuff too like Randys death and Sharons cancer.

LOL...There may be such a book on the market by the same author. I'll have to check.

BTW, Lebron & company are so distasteful to me that I've actually been rooting for the Celtics in this series. My fondest wish is for Miami to never win a championship as long as he's there. If there IS a book about why to love the Celtics, the number one reason ought to be the Miami Heat.

Yep. I'm a Celtics fan but I care more about LeBron James not winning a championship than I do about the Celtics making the NBA finals. The Celtics are playing with house money. Five years into a 3 year plan, Garnett and Allen were already supposed to be too old to win another championship.

Just finished After Shock by Robert Reich. Sure, the conservatives on the board might turn up their noses at this as typical liberal BS, but he certainly lays out a good, logical argument at what caused the Great Recession and what needs to be done to straighten things out. Also read Tom Clancy's Against All Enemies, which is great for any Jack Bauer wannabees.
