As to walking to GMN ... way too dangerous now, bear and moose galore.
OMO ... the biggest thing the town of Killington needs is an identity.
A Village could set that on course. Begins to establish a core...centralizing things.
Stay Cool !

Neither golf course makes money. There simply aren't enough people here nor is the golf season long enough to support two courses. Convert the resort's course to the village and a 9 hole course and run a shuttle from the village to the GMN.

But isn't that what the village is gonna (supposed to) do, bring more people in throughout the year? Also, people are complaining that the current proposed village is gonna be too far away from the snowshed lifts and people will have to walk a few hundred feet, but you want to put the village where part of the golf course is? Don't understand the logic there...

My plan for the village would include a lift from the village to Snowshed and possibly continuing to KBL or Superstar; possibly a lift similar to the connection lift between the Mansfield and Spruce sides of Stowe.. No problem moving people from the village to the hill. Yes, the lift is expensive, but it can't be more expensive than all the site prep involved in connecting Ramshead and Snowshed parking lots, relocating the road, pushing the upper Snowshed lot down into the lower Snowshed lot, relocating parking, etc. And the village would still be next to a 9 hole course. Want to play 18? Go to GMN, now owned by the resort as part of the deal.

This just isn't gonna happen. I like Phase 1 right where it's planned (minus the circle of evil!).

Killington needs many things, but two things it does not need are more italian restaurants or steak houses.
