In his key role as chairman of the Marriott board's audit committee, Romney approved the firm's reporting of fictional tax losses exceeding $70 million generated by its Son of Boss transaction. His endorsement of this stratagem provides insight into Romney's professional ethics and attitude toward tax compliance obligations.

Romney responsible for woman's death ( and the list of baseless accusations continue)

More straw men, go get em obama warriors. There's still gotta be a couple dopes that'll buy this. But then again they'd be a lock to pull D regardless.

IMHO, this isn't news. Mitt endorsed a legal accounting/tax maneuver. The IRS made some inquiries, but found nothing illegal.

Keep harping on the fact that Romney is a very smart and savvy person. In fact if he didn't take advantage of every deduction and tax credit available to him I'd have a different opinion of him.

If you have a problem with that take it up with the representatives and senators who passed the laws that allow for these credits and deductions. Your displeasure is directed towards the wrong person.

Even though he clearly did nothing illegal, and in fact acted in the shareholders best interests as he was hired to do. Yet somehow you adore obama? for his um clean character? or is it for his dealings w tony rezko? or his appointing of geithner? Maybe its the imaginary war on women he tried to conjure up? Or his stoking of racial tensions? Maybe you just admire the rev wright? Maybe you just truly prefer lying over honesty? Obama could sh!t on the statue of liberty and wipe his @ss with the Constitution and you'd defend it as not only right but necessary. ( mostly by declaring it so, while offering zero in the way of evidence or credibility, as usual)

Again, a baseless accusation predicated on your dislike of anything not left. When one cannot disseminate fact from speculation, and is disinclined to to do so even in the face of empirical evidence, one is devoid of all integrity. The rabid lunatic comments to the OPINION piece clearly paint a picture of a desperate left willing to go with anything that will further their "cause".

Sorry you can;t understand why there are deductions that the avg person is not able to take. here's a hint when you own a business you have expenses, they are deductible, in addition the gov ( that you love so much and wish to abdicate complete control to) provides these " loopholes" as incentives to promote a particular behavior. Home mortgage interest deduction, to encourage home ownership for example, child care deduction to encourage use of daycare and allow mothers to enter or re-enter the workforce. So again where your faux outrage should be directed is at the gov whose power and reach you wish to continually expand. But that won;t further your cause of trying to keep the clown in office another 4 yrs now will it? No worries there's nothing anyone can do to save him now, not even the wildest imaginations you our the leftard minions can come up with is going to resonate with anyone who isn;t already a lock to pull D.

Maybe you can understand this logic. How many McCain voters from 08 are going to switch allegiance to obama? I'll guess just about zero How many Obama voters from 08 are going to vote ron paul, stay home, or vote R?I'll guess more than zero How many more R's than D's respectively do you think will turn out with a 12% enthusiasm gap favoring R's? How many undecideds will break for obama? When you divide the country up into tiny little coalitions and then try to win them one by one, you inevitably alienate more people than you coalesce. And that is the difference between 08 and 12.

now what was it you were saying about grasping at straws?

He used the law and regulations to his favor. Unlike the current occupant of the White House, he has had multiple jobs that actually make money and promote expansion and other jobs (STAPLES). Of course we can keep the guy that refused to release his birth certificate, College Transcripts and lots of other things, along with never having a real job that has been found and is a "community organizer". Wonder who was paying him at that time or how he managed to purchase a very expensive home in an exclusive neighborhood of Chicago. He became a IL Senator and suddenly Michele suddenly lands a 6 figure job in a hospital. Hmm!

Best part of all that was when he was elected president and she left the job, it was eliminated.
I blame Obama and his profligate, socialist, liberal tax-and-spend expand-the-universe ways.
At least he can do is a public option for health care.

So I gather you're the average person that can't take advantage of that stuff and, although it's legal and would be imprudent NOT to take advantage, it upsets you?

So let me ask...how many people can take advantage of capital gains and losses every year compared to the "average person"? How many people can take advantage of the mortgage deduction every year compared to the "average person"? Should the "average person" who might file the short form and have no other deductions be upset at those who file the long form and take advantage of available tax deductions? OK...I know......IT'S NOT FAAAAAIIIIIRRRR!!!!

"He's a sketchy businessman... imho..."

If you look up sketchy in Websters you'll see a pic. of Barack Obama because we don't know what country he was born in, he used to go by the name Bernie and changed it , nobody recalls him from college, he won't release his grades, he has accepted donations from ex-criminals , Communists and has affiliations with known Muslim hate mongers then he denies he is a Muslim...
