Re: Climate Change - POLL
Of course man made climate change is real. There is some effect from fluorocarbons, particulates, CO², climate scientists driving to Killington to go skiing, and butterfly wings in Brazil. The question is how much.freeski wrote:Is man made climate change real?
Re: Climate Change - POLL
Are weather patterns changing and is man responsible for a significant part if they are?

Climates always changing. Always has, always will.
Re: Climate Change - POLL
co2 levels also change ,mankind has changed them ,question is have we changed them to a point were the climate is changing because of it? are these changes for the better or worse?

Re: Climate Change - POLL
Let it be known that I as one of the "insane denialist" persuasion voted YES to this trivial question.
Of course there are aspects of human activity that impact climate. Climate has never been very stable, always changing to some degree and MANY things can influence the direction and magnitude of these changes.
Does burning of hydrocarbon fuels lead to global warming (or other ancillary effects from absorbance of outgoing IR) that are detectable and will have a net negative impact on human civilization?
Seems very unlikely given the current state of our knowledge.
I think a more interesting question would be whether people thought human use of hydrocarbon fuels (under current and projected scenarios) is dangerous and should be curtailed ASAP.

12 yes, 6 no... Thanks to those who voted. The poll is open until Dec so hopefully more will weigh in. I thought it would be interesting the other thread just seems to be who can yell the loudest.

Re: Climate Change - POLL
the poll will not be seen by many because it was moved to the political page.
I think it should have stayed on chatter and if anything the other thread moved,
