Brissett is undefeated against Houston.
Think Bill will bench Brady to keep the bookie action interesting ?

Re: New England Patriots
Line gave Brady plenty of time on key plays to throw downfield. Lewis is fun to watch. Great having him healthy for run to five. All business, no boating around. Okay who's next?

Pats need to contain Bell. Never seen a running back wait for the play to develop like he does. It will be interesting to see how the Pats try and stop him. Should be a good game. Guess what, if we win we're going to the Super Bowl.

Record 9th Super Bowl Trip
Bill Belichick has done something neither Chuck Noll, Tom Landry nor Bill Walsh ever managed. Same for Tom Brady, besting the likes of Terry Bradshaw, Roger Staubach and Joe Montana.
Together, Belichick and Brady have put themselves into a record seven Super Bowls. And they made the New England Patriots the NFL's first franchise to play in nine Super Bowls with a 36-17 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night in the AFC championship game.
That victory helped the Patriots break from the NFL's pack of royalty, the teams who seemingly take turns making the league's championship games into their personal finish lines.

Re: New England Patriots
Still need to have 7 SB wins to be the all time best franchise .... only have 4 right now. If they beat Atlanta, they will be tied with Dallas and SF.Coydog wrote:Record 9th Super Bowl Trip

Re: New England Patriots
With a Pats win Brady will stand on top as the only quarterback with 5 SB rings. GOATXtremeJibber2001 wrote:Still need to have 7 SB wins to be the all time best franchise .... only have 4 right now. If they beat Atlanta, they will be tied with Dallas and SF.Coydog wrote:Record 9th Super Bowl Trip

True but those older records were set during the "slavery" period of the NFL.XtremeJibber2001 wrote:Still need to have 7 SB wins to be the all time best franchise .... only have 4 right now. If they beat Atlanta, they will be tied with Dallas and SF.Coydog wrote:Record 9th Super Bowl Trip

Also, the Steelers were founded in 1933, Patriots in 1960.SnoBrdr wrote: True but those older records were set during the "slavery" period of the NFL.
Re: New England Patriots
Super Bowl didn't exist until the mid to late 1960's. Non factor. Who won the Championships early on when the Pats didn't exist? I believe Greenbay and the Giants were an later factor.Coydog wrote:Also, the Steelers were founded in 1933, Patriots in 1960.SnoBrdr wrote: True but those older records were set during the "slavery" period of the NFL.

Yes, true enough, the first Super Bowl was in 1967. I still remember watching that game on a b&w TV the size of a refrigerator with my dear Gramma, a rabid Packers fan.Dr. NO wrote: Super Bowl didn't exist until the mid to late 1960's. Non factor.
The first Super Bowl was anti-climatic for us as the Packers won the NFL championship against the Cowboys in the final seconds - the famous Ice Bowl. Actually, it's pretty amazing a city as small as Green Bay even has an NFL team - publicly owned no less. It would be as if Worcester had an NFL team.
Re: New England Patriots
Once again, the matchup people really wanted to see will have to wait a year.
It appears the modern football era has clouded lots of folks memories.
People forget that the Pack are the all time winningest franchise in Pro Football championship history.
It's worth attending a game at Lambeau .. like going to old Yankee Stadium, or Boston Garden or the Montreal Forum.
So much true passion in any of those old venues. GB ownership scenario assures that passion will survive.
There was little doubt that Tom Brady would be playing in SBLl.
That was made certain at the time of his 'sentencing'.

Overheard in a local gin mill:
A friend of mine has two tickets for the 2017 Super Bowl, both box seats. He paid $7,500 each but he didn't realize last year when he bought them, it was going to be on the same day as his wedding!!!
If you are interested, he is looking for someone to take his place...It's at St Paul's Church, in Columbus at 3pm. Her name is Ashley, she's 5'4", about 115 lbs, good cook too.....She'll be the one in the white dress.
